Boxer telematics

Post by Louise1960 »

We've got an Autosleeper Broadway motorhome on a Peugeot Boxer chassis. We've been told that the telematic unit needs to be replaced. Not really sure what this unit does so if someone can enlighten me in layman's terms please. Symptoms are Bluetooth not working and trip mileage flashing, which could be problem we have with power being leeched from vehicle battery.
Garage tell us there a 3 possible telematic units that could be fitted but when they contacted tech centre, were told just to replace unit without saying which one. I'd have thought that it would be easy to determine part number for our van unless of course there were several model changes at the time of it being built. How can we find out which unit we need please?

Hi, and :welc: to the Forum.

The easiest way is to post up the vehicle VIN here (it will, for security reasons, be obscured so only forum staff can read it; I am NOT forum staff). That way the Forum staff can then look up what YOUR vehicle had when she rolled out of the factory, including the correct telematics part number.

Be advised that you might be asked to pay a donation for this (but that will cover you for up to two years of data searches). This is because the PSA group charge for access to their database. The following link explains this;

Hi Louise and :welc:
One of the forum admin staff may be able to help you but you will need to post up your VIN for the van which will be automatically blanked out (obfuscated) so that only admin staff can read it, and you may have to make a donation to access parts information. However the donation will give you access for 2 years to all the help and advice you could ever want and some you won't :-D The forum is also a great place to be so have a look around from the Board Index above, especially at the Off Topic Chat Lounge and you will find all sorts of things going on and you can join in whatever takes your fancy (A donation is not necessary for that but of course every penny helps!!) :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Basically your vehicle is a Fiat Ducato in disguise. These typically have a lot of Fiat stuff built in and this issue is notorious. It's the hands free unit that provides the handsfree Bluetooth connectivity. Failures are very common indicated by the flashing odometer. Your Peugeot dealer may tell you which part number you need from your VIN, but you can't buy them new anywhere apart from the dealer - and second hand you are taking a risk given the common failures. They may also need coding to the vehicle.

We can also do that, but as we are also charged by PSA, we ask for a contribution for parts info and parts diagrams which will cover you for up to 2 years. Details below:
A response to your question by a Forum Admin will require detailed vehicle information that requires you to have made a current contribution to the Forum.

Hi guys.

I have a similar problem on a 2013 Boxer. I had to swap out the instrument cluster after the LCD died, and the one closest to the age that I could find was a 2011. I had the mileage corrected and the ECU reset etc by a specialist, all okay apart from the mileage is flashing, and the mileage guy couldn't figure out why. He did a proxy alignment but still no joy.

Could anyone help me with this please?

Many thanks
Barb
