407 rear hub bearing replacement

Post by AlvinCitroenC5 »

Hi,

I am wondering if any one have replaced the 407's rear hub bearing only: What I mean is pressing the old bearing out of the wheel flange and mounting a new one in. It seems that Peugeot have only the flange, bearing, nut, and cover as an assembly to sell to the public. I believe the bearing assembly is made by SNR. If anyone have only pressed out and replaced the bearing only, can you share which bearing model # it is? Thanks.

GSF car parts sell both, they even give you a choice of SNR O/E or budget. The difference in the price is hardly worth all the effort with a press.

The www.gsfcarparts.com server denies IP address entry from China. I am wondering if you have the bearing part number (PSA number and/or generic bearing part number) for reference. Thanks.

Sorry Alvin I did not notice your location.
The Peugeot part number for the rear hub assembly is 3748.87. I suspect the Peugeot Dealer in Hong Kong would quote a ridiculous price ?
The SNR bearing part number shown here is 413PC0904, but that may differ with suppliers. It would certainly be cheaper for you, but you will need a hydraulic press and must be very careful not to damage the ABS ring.

Thank you for the info. I wasn't able to wait so I bought the complete assembly for both left and right rear. Thereafter, I felt my wallet a lot lighter than before.
