This C5 MK I has pretty basic specs and is a petrol model - but thankfully an EW10J4 engine and not the HPI versions for which fuel pumps are an issue and as these were short lived they are therefore impossible to get hold of now.

4 Speed AL4 Auto.
Automatic A/C
Wood Decor & Leather Steering wheel is about your lot on the options...

No Cruise Control
No Alloys wheels
Normal H3 Suspension (Not H3+)
Halogen lamps
Manual seats
RD3 radio
No Equaliser Amp
No Parking Assistance
No ESP system
No Tyre Deflation Detection system

I can't comment on retro fitting cruise on this model as this engine was never fitted with it and at the time these were made, there were up to 3 levels of BSI fitted depending on equipment / options / model.

On the screen it apparently had "cruise control on/off" and "speed limit on/off", but there wasn't a stalk.
Thanks for saving me an 1hr trip to view the 'top of the range' car!

If it has a motorised throttle body you should be able to retrofit cruise control.
The mk 1 was never that im aware of ever fitted with the speed limiter function, only an overspeed warning that beeps at you when you go over a pre set speed. Actual speed limiter function never came along till the mk2

Mk1 EW10J4 C5's swapped from cable actuated to electrically actuated throttle body sometimes around early 2004.
If your car has the electronically controlled throttle you just need to add a stalk and activate it with Lexia.
Here in Finland i have never seen a EW10J4 C5 with electrical throttle and no cruise control.

If you have a cable actuated throttle, you need a standalone cruise control kit.

Mk1:s had no limiter function like the Mk2:s.
A stalk with limiter function might still work for the cruise control.
I once fitted a Mk2 C5 limiter stalk to a Mk2 307 with a TU5JP4. I was not able to activate the limiter because there was no kickdown sensor at the throttle pedal which is needed for the limiter.
