Hello guys,
Anyone here experienced this kind of noise or know what this could be? I hear it from the EGS....
DS5 strange noise from EGS

Re: DS5 strange noise from EGS
Okay I found this ... viewtopic.php?t=61093 similar noise.
Checked the hydraulic fluid tank aaaand it's almost empty... 1,5 week ago the tank was full as I checked before went on a 1.6k km route.. At least I got home without this happening, and just started now.
Before that I had oil drop under the car but It was the right driveshaft seal. It was changed but still saw oil comming from the top, and it was "clean oil". Thought its from the gearbox.
There is any hose going to the back of the gearbox from the actuator? Removed the airfilter box, so the front of the gearbox visible and the actuator, but I dont see any oil there.

Interesting thing, even when the tank was full, I saw oil drops coming from the top of engine, and hit the right driveshaft rod. So its must be somewhere on the top back of the gearbox.
Saw some people said the oil goes into the bell due to a faulty central slave cylinder (clutch). But I dont think thats my reason. The hydraulic oil is dripping down.
Edit: for the last 6month I had rare issue when the engine was hot and was moving slowly with traffic in the city (max 40kmh), so gear changes from 1->2->3 and back to 1 until stop, sometimes the engine were knocking so big.. like its jumping out of the car... a big damn knock... probably caused by bad egs?!

You have a Hybrid 6 speed piloted manual box
Your hydraulic reservoir is number 7 below.
(7) Hydraulics reservoir.
(8) Electric motor.
(9) Pressure accumulator.

Re: DS5 strange noise from EGS
yeah I know this.. (how come right) last summer had a dmf and clutch change and was perfect until february or so. But the first oil drop I saw was 2 weeks ago. Checked the hydraulic reservoir is number 7 and it was a bit below the MAX mark.. Went to croatia last week ~1800km and yesterday night heard this noise. And today checked the oil tank and it has a little bit fluid in the bottom..GiveMeABreak wrote: ↑24 Aug 2020, 15:02 You have a Hybrid 6 speed piloted manual box

Also when changing gears I hear a loud clunk noise and also got "engine error stop veichle" pop up. which went off on engine off.
Its possible to fill the hydraulic tank with Tutela Car CS Speed 75W (heard its the "same" as the original in citroen) and at least move the car out of the garden to the street??

Re: DS5 strange noise from EGS
Be aware that you must only check the fluid level after the system is depressurised! If not you can over fill it and that can cause damage.
You need to use a diagnostic kit like Diagbox to depressurise it first before you check the level and then when this is done you fill it to the maximum level marked on the tank.

Great cuz I dont know anyone here with diagbox who can come to house and do this.. so somehow I have to manage to put it on a trailer in the garden..
But if the tank almost empty, that doesn't mean its gone due to a leak? If its gone, it must be depressurised, not?
Or asking the million dollar question?

Re: DS5 strange noise from EGS
The tank should not be empty. I am just advising you the way you need check the tank level, so it accounts for all the hydraulic oil in the system. Filling it up when the actuators are already full of oil will very likely over-fill it causing extra pressure in the system and that may lead to a leak. Unfortunately I can't tell you what the level should be when the system is properly filled and then pressurised.
If you have pictures of where the oil is leaking from (the source of oil the leak, not where it is ending up) I may be able to help - but is going to be difficult on a Forum.
Or if you can use the diagram below and tell me which section:

Okay, its dead by now.. wont take reverse, tried to park out cause I called a trailer. But car just go forward. So have to somehow push out of the garden, and the problem is its "siting" in a pit. So have to ask a few people to push out somehow, while car in neutral.
Looks like the high pressure went away... No mechanic saw by now, but on the phone call an automatic mechanist said, common issue the 60 bar gone and its over. New actuator needed. 2000eur probably.
Died at 228k km

Re: DS5 strange noise from EGS
Very sorry to hear that. These gearboxes do make up a huge proportion of the issues with cars on this forum!
