Re: O2 sensor connections swapped what happens when upstream for down, and down up?
Hi Guys,
I want to know the wiring color of the upstream and downstream oxygen sensor from its plug to the ECU on a picasso xsara 1.6 petrol sohc engine year 2003 because for my car the upstream and downstream plug color are both green. If somebody can help me as i dont want to swap its by error.
Thanks

1351 is the downstream sensor
1350 is the upstream sensor
Ignore wiring colours, focus on pin numbers:

The problem is that the colour can, and often does, change as you follow it through a wiring loom. You cannot even guarantee that it will start with the same colour in a different loom. You will have to find the codes - they are normally at the very ends of the cable run when the cables finish in a plug of some kind.

The pins numbers are marked at the plug connection. The same for the ECU plug. You will need to look for the markings, but these may be hard to see as they are the same colour as the plug. The sensor cables them selves should be 2 different lengths - a longer one for the downstream and a shorter one for the upstream.

The pins are shown where I have arrowed below. The wiring codes are on the wires on the sleeves. You may have to peel back the protective sheathing to show the codes - they are printed every few inches on each wire.
Click or tap Image to zoom So you can see on the green plug, pins marked 1, 2, 3 & 4 which correspond the same numbers on my wiring diagram.

Re: O2 sensor connections swapped what happens when upstream for down, and down up?
I checked the wiring and i found one wiring with number 1302 and next to it another wire with number 44DN and according to the wiring diagram you sent to me number 44DN do not include in it. But i guess it is the downstreaming wiring with the number 1302 am i right?

Re: O2 sensor connections swapped what happens when upstream for down, and down up?
44DN is not a code - ignore it.
1302 is shown on my wiring diagram if you look. 1351 (hardware) is the downstream sensor which shows wire 1302 connected so yes.

Thanks for the info. Another question, do you have the wiring diagram for the idle valve for my engine
