2016 Peugeot 3008 Urea & Engine Light

Post by wattsey4u2day »

My father in law has a problem with his 3008 recently where the Urea light keeps on coming up with sporadic mileage claims saying he has 1500 miles until the car wont start, and then 700, and then back up to 1500 for example. I plugged in my code reader and got the codes P20E8 and P20F6. We topped up the adblue tank up with about 10 litres and the light went out. After taking it on a drive, it came back on again with sporadic mileage. I read up about the cap and we have the one with the white dot in the middle (supposedly to relieve pressure?).. He has taken it to the main dealer and they said they couldn't fix the fault and that they need to do 3 hours worth of software updates and diagnosis..

Has anyone has this problem before? Could it be that there's a dodgy connector somewhere?

Did you wait for the obligatory 5 minutes after topping up before switching the ignition on - and the other part about not intruducing the fob into or near the vehicle for keyless systems is important to as that will trigger the networks and prepare the car for starting and can interfere with the resetting.

From the manual:
Important: when topping-up after running out of AdBlue, signalled by the message "Top-up AdBlue: starting impossible", you must wait for about 5 minutes before switching the ignition on again, without opening the driver's door, unlocking the vehicle, introducing the remote control key into the ignition switch, or placing the Keyless Entry and Starting electronic key inside the vehicle. Switch on the ignition, then wait for 10 seconds before starting the engine.
