Diagbox Version

Post by DHallworth »

When I bought my X7 I had to update to a newer version of Diagbox so that I could talk to certain ECU's. I found at the time 7.16 was high enough to do what I needed.

I've just tried to plug Cheryl's new C4 B7 in as I've bought a SMEG +IV2 unit to fit to it instead of the SMEG one that's in it and I'm finding that mine won't talk to most of the ECU's. It comes up saying ECU not recognised.

Does anyone know what version do I need to try and find to be able to talk to a 2015 C4 B7?

Thanks,

David.

Hi David

Sorry - I was responding to this yesterday, but something came up and I forgot!

You certainly will need to update it, the change logs I have show 7.62 was released Jan. 2015 - but after this version, some of the telecoding was starting to be removed.

Also, be aware that there are issues with trying to code a SMEG IV2 unit manually - as far as I am aware this can only be configured online via PSA servers.

Thanks Marc,

I've read online I won't be able to telecode it. My plan initially was to fit it and write the correct VIN into the unit so that it would work in the car and then take it to Citroen to be telecoded.

With everything that's going on with the 407 at the moment it's taken a bit of a back seat just now.

David.

I completely understand about the 407. I would also suggest that you may not be able to VIN code the later SMEG unit either - it may not be able to. I know some dealers who are willing to do this (many won't if it has been user-upgraded) had to use a VIN from an identical vehicle with all your same options to manually perform a download as the system won't do it when it reads your VIN from the BSI. But good luck regardless.
