The only fuse F38 I can see is listed under the PSF0 box Dave - but knowing how they love to change things - it may be in another one - so check all of them - but should be a 20 Amp.

Here's another picture of the box - showing the other fuses - so see if you can match it up with the others as a reference: F38 is second from bottom left.

Ok so That fuse on mine is located in the fuse box on the drivers side and is fine although I will try a different one in there as have plenty of spares.
The wires. I'm gonna need to figure out what I need to check there. thinking about it tho the central locking doesnt work on the side sliding door before this issue so that loom deffo needs looking at.

Yep, it's worth checking as maybe it has worn the wiring but not tripped the fuse.

I'm losing the will to live here. So the loom is fine but I now have a more immediate problem in I can't turn the key in the ignition.

Have you left the van parked awkwardly with the front wheels turned into or out ward of the kerb?

This can prevent the steering wheel turning sufficiently to allow the steering lock to release. When parked like this and the engine is switched off, you loose the parking assistance, so later when coming to unlock, it is extremely hard to turn the wheel without power assistance to get the wheel unlocked.

Image no Its parked on the flat in front of my garage, I think its time for a new barrel. That then brings up new problems like hoe do I reprogram the new key? I have China clone OBD2 software but that is for Vauxhall, Is the ODB socket the same on Citroen? What software to use on win10? or do I do that with my cheapy bluetooth ODB reader again what app would I use? Getting fed up of this van lol

The barrel / key blade is independent from the immobiliser. Just be careful not to knacker the transponder ring shown at 4.
relay transponder.PNG
The key fobs contain the transponder chip. You can't code a new fob with a generic code reader.

These Relay IIs have a different synchronisation procedure of the keys....

Synchronise the remote controls with the radiofrequency receiver in the following cases:
  • Memorisation of a new key with the remote control in the code control unit
  • Replacement of the radiofrequency receiver.
N.B.: It is necessary to have the password available (code with 5 characters).

When memorising a new key into the immobiliser unit
It is necessary to carry out the following operations:
  • Memorisation of the transponder
  • Memorisation of the remote control of the new key of the vehicle
There are 2 codes - a confidential password used for coding the key to the transponder unit and then an electronic code for memorisation of transponders. It appears that you will need both, so this may be a dealer job, as the codes are stored on their PSA servers if you don't have it.

N.B.: Do not confuse the "password" used for the memorisation of remote controls, with the electronic code inscribed on the code control unit and used for the memorisation of transponders.

ImageThanks Marc am not really sure what to do without being able to start the van and can't take it anywhere. I also don't have the funds to call a locksmith out. I wondered if you wouldn't mind explaining to me what the little metal strip does if you know. New ones come with a piece of shaped plastic on that I presume does something as the key turns.

Image also can I presume that this card contains the 2 codes you mentioned before?

I'll have a look regarding the ignition barrel - to see if there is anything additional I have.

As for the codes - Yes, those are the ones that a diagnostic system would need for the operations described in my last post.

As for the steering lock, I know you probably have already, but try some very gentle movements to the left / right as you try the key.

There is nothing I have on the tags of the ignition barrel, but this is what is involved in replacing the lock only: Note, that to get to this part below, the steering wheel, steering wheel controls, and steering column etc. also need to be removed. I haven't put those procedures up now as they are a bit involved unless you specifically need them - let me know.

Do you have breakdown / recovery cover to at least get it looked at or recovered home / to a garage?

Steering Lock Replacement only: (requires additional component removal beforehand).

Disconnect the battery.
Remove the steering column (see the relevant operation).
Relay Lock A.PNG
Relay Lock B.PNG
Removal:
Place the steering column in a vice with soft jaws.
Punch an initial indentation on each bolt head.
Drill and extract screws ( 1).
Remove the ignition switch (mark the direction of fitting).
Refit:
  • The steering lock
  • The bolts (1)
Tighten screws ( 1) until shearing off the screw heads.
Refit the steering column.
Reconnect the battery.

Thanks Marc, I think I'm happy with changing the actual barrel it is purely the programming the keys that will be my sticky point, The van is at home outside my garage I haven't taken out any breakdown cover yet as am not really using it until next month when hopefully I will have sold my car (that is also knackered btw).
If I where to change the barrel and have a new set of keys in my hand for the ignition am I right in thinking the van is going nowhere until the keys are programmed? Had a quote from Citroen for a new ignition barrel £126 rip off gits!

That's correct, because although the keys and barrel would fit, the engine is locked without the codes being exchanged.

The dealers do a replacement set of locks and keys £615.13 inc. VAT  that include new all locks and keys - but would still need coding.

Lol that's completely out of the question. I may have found a guy locally that may be able to program them for me but I'll have to go and see him tomorrow.

This is getting weirder now, I can turn the key as far as the ignition coming on, dash lights on, systems boot up but if I let go it all goes off again. Still unable to start the engine. Think I'm going to drill the lock today so I can at least take it somewhere.

Didn't need to drill it in the end as I realised I could just pull the whole barrel out of the casing.
If I where to change the complete ignition assy would I be able to get the existing chip changed from the current only key I have that deals with the immobiliser or am I still going to have problems starting the van? This morning I got the key to turn the ignition on but it wont turn the engine over, battery is fine the ignition barrel is knackered.
