xsara picasso 2002 2.0HDI over high revs
my accelerator pedal is a little slack - can pull it up about an inch. where is the adjustment part located? also, would the slackness affect the idle speed when engine is warm? for example, when stopping at traffic lights the engine will slowly return to idle. if I press the accelerator, the engine will stay in high revs and slowly come down. the throttle becomes less responsive when stationery but drives fine. would cleaning the throttle inlet butterfly help. could it be the idle control valve? thx
Re: xsara picasso 2002 2.0HDI over high revs
There is no idle control valve & the throttle butterfly is just there to assist with EGR operation. Every old 2.0HDi i have had I always blanked the vac pipe off on the throttle butterfly so it stays fully open all the time.
The adjustment is on the outer cable at the engine end, this actually just sounds like a sticking cable. Disconnect it at the engine end & see if the inner cable moves freely.

Ive located the edge valve but am unable to locate the throttle cable. Can you help?
