Hello... first of all sorry if I'm opening a new topic about sensors. I've search the forum and although I found something but it's not certain.
I wish to know where it is the Crankshaft sensor for my C5 2.0HDi (138hp)... Is it somewhere below the air-filter, deep down??
Well, the reason is because my car is having a little problem. It happens sometimes(rarely) the car simply shut's down while moving and then I have to wait a few minutes to turn on the car again.
(screen message: anti-pollution anomaly) my car is 2º generation year 2004 (1st year of MK2, no particle filter yet).
I've seen the error in OBD2 Diagnostic and shows P1351 error code (glow-plug relay)... well the glow-plugs are fine (tested) and I think the relay is fine too, because the local store guy told me that the problem might not be the relay and it might be the crankshaft sensor and I think he is right.
Also I have these pictures maybe you can tell me what are they.

Camshaft sensor??

The number is barely visible 96.542.828.80 Is this "Pressure Converter, exhaust control"??
Thanks in advance...

Re: Citroen C5 2.0HDi sensors location
I'll need your VIN to confirm, but if this is the DW10BTED4 138 engine:
The Engine Speed Sensor is item (1)
Your Camshaft Sensor is item (5)
The Engine Speed Sensor is item (1)
Your Camshaft Sensor is item (5)

Crankshaft sensor on the 2.0l HDI 16 valve engine (borrowed from Haynes manual)

Re: Citroen C5 2.0HDi sensors location
I saw a video of a sensor replacement but it was a gasoline engine... and it was the other side(right)... I thought it could be the same side... it seams it's not...

So to get there, you need to go through the passenger side fender (left driving), removing the wheel and wheel cover ... ok... thank you

Re: Citroen C5 2.0HDi sensors location
I'm trying to locate the (crank) sensor on my '07 mkII 2.2hdi auto, it looks like it's just inboard of the pulley, towards the bulkhead.
If that is it, it's accessible from underneath, maybe drivers front wheel off and jacked up (safely of course )
Could anyone confirm or deny before I make a start maybe?
(I thought it may have been under the thermostat / off the flywheel, gearbox side but there's to many hoses and obstructions to really tell)
Thanks!

Pop the VIN up as we only have your MK I C5 and there are 2 different 2.2 Engines...

Re: Citroen C5 2.0HDi sensors location
Hi Marc,
Thanks for that, I found the sensor and have changed it but for future ref the VIN is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff].
However, for anyone else that may need to know:
2.2 Hdi MkII 2007 auto.
Crankshaft sensor is definitely located next to the crank pulley (drivers' side, RHD). Reasonable access after removing front drivers side wheel.
10mm nut.
Watch out for the plastic locating lug on the sensor, my was stuck firm and broke off in removal, even though I was gentle with it.
A faulty sensor will prevent the engine from starting or stop it, if it fails whilst running.
