Fuel Pump Lock Ring and Seal OEM Cost

Post by dave_xsara »

Does anyone know the price from Citroen of the following items:

1531.20 Fuel Pump Lock Ring
1531.24 Fuel Pump Lock Ring Seal

The Part No. on the lock ring I've got is 9621364680 which I believe is equivalent for 1531.20.
I can get the lock ring on eBay for £6.50.

However, the seal is a different story. I can't find it for sale by itself, but I can get it with the lock ring for £17.50.
I see it for sale on onelinecarparts.co.uk for £8.50, so the combined price might be okay - but I was told previously that sometimes OEM from Citroen can be cheaper or equivalent.

Here you go

Part Number Description Quantity Price excl. VAT Price incl. VAT Total incl. VAT Selection
0000153120 FUEL TANK RING 1 3.32 GBP 3.98 GBP 3.98 GBP

0000153124 SEAL 1 7.59 GBP 9.11 GBP 9.11 GBP

Quite why the seal is nearly 3 times the price of the ring I have no idea!!

I can't find the 96 part number it shows up in the corresponding parts, but I have never been able to get that to work, so no idea what it is!

The 96 Part No is a Fiat/Lancia part number according to the online parts providers.

I'll phone up the local dealer to get these bits. Thanks for looking this up.

I'm assuming because it has to be resistant to the diesel. Not sure why though as most seals have to be resistant to dozing against some type of liquid. :-k

Vaseline in your Friend !

Always coat your ring surface and both sides of the rubber with Vaseline to ensure it slips round without chafing, you don't want a leak.

TOP TIP! O rings that are exposed to unleaded fuel expand, carburettor seals on themotorcycle/ lawnmower carb refuse to go back into the groove they just came out of, dont panic, sit them on top of a hot kettle for half an hour and they will shrink!

What is wrong with the ring? will it not go back on the tank?
