I think it's toast unfortunately. If you were to burn a CD from the ISO and try that, there's a risk of the disc getting stuck and not being able to eject it as it constantly tries to seek the boot files. If it won't boot off the USB, it's unlikely to do the same off the CD. Of course you may want to try, but I suspect there's in internal issue with the chips on the motherboard that may have become corrupt.

OK, well I tried! :)

It's defo doing something because a USB with the iso image file does nothing (continual reboot every 15 seconds) and the same USB with the extracted files takes 7 mins to go back to the reboot cycle.

Managed to get the software to load after the battery went flat. Don't know why that allowed me to do it. Now I have a working display but its in Czech.

I ran the mirascript to read the config file but I couldn't find any data field for language. I had a look in User_Com.dat and item 1.4.55 is Current Language value 13. I can't change this though!

The User_config file field 1.6.98 says Configuration Menu Preset, not language as I read elsewhere.

Any ideas?

Looks like the battery has cleared some issues - and now it looks like it has defaulted back to factory settings.

This will be the case if you have no language menu in the RT6 settings menus. A dealer visit to reconfigure the RT6 may be the solution (they need to treat it as if it has been reset and download the configuration by internet for the settings and options to be restored most likely.

I updated my mirascripts files and found the language setting option! Worked a treat! Now I just need to reload a map for the navi. So odd that they'd disable changing languages and then default it to Czech...

Maybe add a tip to the instructions to say if all else fails take the battery out for a day and then try again!

It may well be an issue in the ECU of the car needing to be reset to get the head unit to start working again after the SD card dies.

Anyway thanks for the "how to" instructions.

I've done that now, by adding a footnote at the end of the procedure, thanks.

Meanwhile waiting sunday to perfor the microsd change, i’ve two question:

I have a spare microsd 16gb class 10 kingstone original around house. I need to format fat32? I know that OS will automatically format it but at start must be in a common format?

Where I can found the last Maps for rt6 system?

What year is your 308? The Mark 2 has SMEG+ and, later on, NAC. This has the USB port in the centre console. I'm not sure what the Mark 1 has but I think it might be RD45. The point is that if you have any of the ones I've listed then it's not RT6 and you shouldn't try to use RT6 firmware on it.

If the Mk1 did have an RT6 system then I will have learned something and am happy to be put right.
Can you help me to find firmware to download ?

Firmware for which system? What fault do you think this will fix?

Just format the MicroSD card and wipe the hidden / system files that Windows will place on it. The system will then partition the card and install the OS for you.

I can't help you with maps - these are still available to purchase from the official navigation site.

Yes - the system will work! If not, no, it should not keep trying to reboot - as answered on the other thread.

Hi,

After installing 2.86 on an idustrial grade class 10 16 GB sd card and copy back the user config files, everything is working fine.

But I have no maps installed on the new system. All maps available seem to be just upgrades. i.e. I cannot install any map using these. So my question is: How to install (NOT upgrade) maps on the RT6 with no maps already installed?

Best regards
