C crosser help

Post by Cjukes »

2012 c-crosser 2.2 hdi auto

Hi

Could anyone advise if they have any suggestions on the recent issue I experienced with my c crosser. I’ve had the car 5 years and it’s been perfect. However last week I was towing and the car appeared to move the neutral in between the box changing gear. It basic revved straight to 5000 rpm with zero pull. It didn’t fell like a clutch slip but happy for suggestions. It’s 2012 so the engine seal should not be the issue as the is was modified in 2011. The Citroen garage have been pretty poor and are just guessing and pricing accordingly.

Any ideas welcome

Thanks

What's your VIN - post it here so we can see exactly what you have.

These are essentially Mitsubishi vehicles using their gearboxes. On these there are auto boxes and piloted manual boxes so depending on which you have (which we'll know when we have the VIN), you could have a clutch or Dual Mass Flywheel issue.

C-CROSSER SUV 2.2 HDi FAP (DW12ME5) 4X4 6-SPEED PILOTED MANUAL GEARBOX

Ok, as suspected, you have a manual piloted gearbox (so not automatic - no torque converter). These are complicated beasties - more so as these are Mitsubishi Outlanders made for Citroen.

The best thing you can do is get it read for faults and see what is being picked up - then you can get some idea of where to go - my data on these is limited as said, it's essentially a Mitsi.
