Strange turbo noise between 0:25 - 0:27 "deep growl":


I experience the same in my DS5 2.0 (same engine) and haven't found the issue yet.

Anyone here experienced the same and got a fix for that?

Have you read through this topic? Get the fault codes read with Diagbox and if you are getting the same codes then a replacement of the parts discussed in this topic may be your solution.

Problem is, I don't get any error code. But have the same sound like in the video at 0:25-0:27 that "deep growl".

edit: or this error comes without "Engine light" pop up?

You won't always have an engine management light pop up on the dash. That is only triggered for certain fault codes.

You need to have it diagnostically checked with Diagbox - generic fault code readers are not always able to read all the fault codes - especially the constructor-specific fault codes that are reserved. Most can only read basic OBDII codes.

Hi. I had similar problems on my C5 for a long time. Garage checked EGR, changed solenoids and some sensors but no change.... P11AA back every few days for the last 20.000 km and black smoke sometimes lots of it when pushed hard. Also consumption of diesel rised for cca 1l/100km

I had enough and did some research on my own and bingo! Problem with air leak when under pressure from turbo. Leakage was wery small but big enough to see some black oil sludge between air doser and manifold connection. If thick oil can come out how could than hold pressurised air... I solved this leak with putting some thin epdm rubber ring under the green square profile ring seal to push it out for 0.5 mm and now runs fine again. Also consumption felt down to normal.

You also had that weird noise? And problems with slow speed?

Thank you, will check this on my DS5... Im pretty sure I have air problems.. car drives different each day..

When you will take off that air dosier clean pressure sensor niple and temperature prrobe in it and chech if flap inside is moving ok. There will probably be a lot of sot inside housing. I suspect that that part of that strange sound is comming from this part also. Do your DS smoke black when pressed hard?

Manual or auto gearbox? If auto it could be related to it. PSA old auto gearboxes are sort on the lazy side.

Anyway if no black smoke I suppose you are not loosing air on presurized side of air hoses.
