Hi and welcome.

This is the older RD4 system. It supports only CD, not DVD.

So all the tracks i want must be burnt on classic CD-R of 80 minutes capacity. No other way to read dvd-rw of 240 minutes capacity ?

The drive is incapable of reading DVDs of any sort.

Presumably you could burn more tracks onto a CD-R if you compress them into MP3s or, maybe, WMAs.

Your owners handbook should tell you which media and recording formats are supported. This probably includes MP3.
You may also have the options of upgrading the hardware.

This unit is not MP3 or WMA compatible. That was only available on the revised update of the RT3 Navidrive on the MK II C5.

That's the same as my system. perfectly adequate for in car entertainment I think. :) in fact I've got a pile of old cassettes I'm just having a go at transferring to CDs for the car.
My car doesn't have the ugly bit of spare wire sticking out from the side of the panel spoiling the symmetry.

Me too. I never understood the need to have one's entire music collection in the car.

I usually make a single CD last for weeks if not months :)
Jackie Evancho's new album will be resident there for quite some time, been there a month already :)

To giorgos13: That's my radio in the pic and as others have advised, no it doesn't support DVD's nor MP3 CD's unfortunately, just standard 60-minute WMA Audio CD's.
There are two accessory input ports avaliable in the rear connector of the unit, one of which I utilised and enabled using Diagbox/lexia.
