Re: C5 X7: JWS 3309 vs. JWS 3324
Hi Roby
It will depend on the Euro specification of the vehicle overall. The oil changes according to the Euro standard (not just for the gearbox but the car overall).
Best to put your VIN up (automatically masked on post submission) and I'll advise you what euro standard and oil you need.

Re: C5 X7: JWS 3309 vs. JWS 3324
Ok, so you have a Euro 5 vehicle, therefore need to use the JWS 3324 oil (or equivalent PSA specification) for the Euro 5 variants of the AM6 gearbox. Don't use JWS 3309, which is for Euro 4 vehicles.

Thanks,
So febi 101161 will be fine for me instead of expensive original PSA oil.

Re: C5 X7: JWS 3309 vs. JWS 3324
I can't comment about that - it states for 3309 which is NOT what you want.
Find some oil that meets the AW1 or JWS 3324 standard. I wouldn't cut corners on your gearbox oil. Oil quality directly affects gearbox operation and life.

Forget JWS 3309, this is NOT the correct Oil!
3309 is for Euro 4 vehicles
3324 is for Euro 5/6 standards and this is what you want.

Re: C5 X7: JWS 3309 vs. JWS 3324
Yes Marc,
but Febi says the same oil is manufacturer approval for both JWS 3309 and JWS 3324.
Which would be your recommendation, the original psa or is there any alternative?

Have a search on JWS 3324 on Opie Oils,
Scroll down and then double check it meets JWS 3324

Re: C5 X7: JWS 3309 vs. JWS 3324
If they say that one of their oils will replace both PSA specifications of oil then I would have severe doubts about using that oil in either case. It would also cause me to doubt the manufacturer in general.

Yes Paul, I agree .... it's weird.
And I was just thinking of getting that oil since I can get it from a local retailer, but now I’m going to get some other oil.
Thanks Marc and Paul

Re: C5 X7: JWS 3309 vs. JWS 3324
I have another question,
A local authorized Citroen dealer told me that my car needs oil 9734R7,is this same as JWS 3324?

Re: C5 X7: JWS 3309 vs. JWS 3324
That is correct, it is the internal PSA part number for the Euro 5/6 oil that you require for your vehicle.
