Can't think why it was so tight, no locktite or corrosion and once cracked it came out loose.

Definite fail today...😮

As good as that overall package looks Neil the anti-theft part isn't going to stop someone free-wheeling the bike away and I also wonder if there is the possibility to develop this drive system and see a return of the shaft-driven wheel eliminating the need for a chain/belt altogether?

I would have thought that as well as freeing the pedals the security system would also lock the wheel preventing free wheeling and leaving the potential thief only with the option of carrying the bike? :)

Snapped a couple of T10 bits and 'Pro quality' shop tools on bleed screws, some are Rediculously tight! Only need a couple NM's on them,
Mind you, Sram crank bolts are the best for tightness! Had a couple that have required the non drive arm in the stand clamp and All of my 1/2" extension bars joined up on the 8mm Allen bit to get it to go, one took me (110kg) fully off the floor on before it Cracked loose, annoyingly almost instantly becomes finger tight! Not many defeat this mind, but some doo...

Usually down to Loctite or similar having been used in the assembly in my experience! :)

No loctite on these! Been in and out many times! Something about them makes them self tighten to rediculous levels! Pivot bolts on suspension normally warmed up with the hot air gun before undoing, always clean them and a small dab of thread lock on them when rebuilding frames,

Looks pretty extreme!

New wheel fitted, nice and smooth. Only lasted 10k before I got a puncture, the ham fisted mechanic changing over the tyre nipped the tube somewhere (must have stern words with myself!), not sure why it took that time to show up!?!

The pages of the thread have covered the Aston Martin bike, the Harley Davidson Bike, and many other brandings of bikes by well known operators in the automotive world. Here's the latest offering from Ducati, with a hefty price tag but look at the pictures...in 2022 look at all those exposed cogs and chains, has the bike design revolution not ditched such things by now. Other developments covered in the thread may suggest that Ducati have just re-invented the dinosaur.

Normally Motor orientated branded bikes are poorly spec'd and overpriced, ducatti have done a good job on this, well spec'd,up to date components, all be it about £2k over price for a 'Normal' brand under normal circumstances, but not a bad effort at all!
Spent a lot of time nosing through decathalon's home brand Triban bikes, mostly at a dabble into Gravel bikes, they also have Van Risel as the up market brand, some very interesting options!
