Not bikes but Pifco, still around, my neighbour asked if I could repair her vacuum cleaner, it was burned out and unrepairable so it got binned but the box it came in and the hoses brushes etc. are sitting in my conservatory.

so another 2 days of similar distance, saturday with the 'club' again....got trounced again by another 8yr old on a climb approx .6 mile @ 8% avg  failed 100m from top, no more gears to go, legs like Lead and lungs to match!
returned today to get 'back on the horse' and made it albeit not in a Pantani Pirate way

spent an hour swilling the bike off, contact cleaner on the important bits and a good dousing with GT85 for the next outing.
pedals were horrible, lost the grease tube that came with them so had to find another syringe and pack that with grease and make sure i didn't lose the very small Hex key screw where they're greased.

Nothing worse than grumbly pedals! Today was my saddle rails time to creak! Awful! Have dropped some lube in to help but may need a bit more!
Did a local classic loop here today with one of my good riding buddies, he's been bmx racing the last few weekends so missed out on mtb'ing! Am leado g a ride for the mtb club next weekend on the same loop so figured best prove to myself I can do it okay! :-D

Had the pleasure of today's ride with the background tune of a stage rally on the old airfield!

managed 5 days out of 7 whilst in France road riding.
high 20's at the very least, one day late pm was 33 deg c, and i very nearly felt like a long lay down here as well

Image

and stupidly on another day @ 30 deg i forgot my water bottle and no money to buy a beer

23c skinny bald tyres and melting tarmac is a challenge to say the least!

On a recent trip to my daughter's in Germany my mate had to try out her pride and joy:

and I realised there was something missing, so being the kind of Dad I am I just had to send her a pressie:-

Happy at last! :-D

On your Bike.....

or not if you follow the advice here

and on another nostalgic note....nice image from the milk race with its following entourage of white cars headed by the rather gorgeous ford corsair...bit fuzzy but culled from 16mm cine film

group ride again yesterday, started sunny, 20 mins of Biblical rains ended with rivers on the gravel paths and jersey like this..

Image

anything that moved on machine and man was squeaking !

the return today was drier and ended up over a side i rarely venture to.
2nd trig point found and Glacial Boulder in the background.
Image

apparently from Scotland and a minor miracle it made it all the way down and ended up on a plinth

Image

and probably less than 2-300 metres along the path was this...
Image
Image

i must admit i'd never heard of this

Not quite enough streaks for a Jackson Pollock but close.

Friday afternoon killing time before picking up Dillon from a week's sailing course:

Shortly after this I got soaked in a cloudburst, hence the rather grey appearance of the photos!

Taking a link from my "Notices What Have you spotted post" today I'm sure quite a good proportion of cyclists will know the meaning of this sign
