A telephone scam I have not had before occurred today!!

The call came from +4919905537602 announcing themselves as Amazon Customer Services. An automatic voice went on to say that they had noticed an unusual transaction on my account for £1650! (That would be B****y unusual!!) :-D , and that they were putting a stop on it to protect my account could I please press 1 to discuss etc.......

Well as I have a daughter living in Germany I recognised the code and deleted accordingly, hold on phone ringing...... spooky!! got it again as I type from +4919530605125 but supposedly Daniel again and a different amount £1499 !! It will be reported!! :-D

Just hang up - Amazon NEVER call you, like the BT scams cutting of your internet - it's always a scam as they never call you regardless - it anything goes toes up you usually have to call them.

Thank goodness for our call blocker - one press of the button and another number consigned to room 101.

An email purportedly from Hermes claiming a failed delivery of a 'large letter' from the NHS that may have to be signed for.
Why would Hermes have my email address in the first place and why would they connect it to a delivery from the NHS?
Scam.
Apparently tried for different origins, mainly retail sources.

Utterly laughable! Apart from the total ridiculousness of it all, from 'The National Lottery' via an agent with a gmail account! :rofl2:

Thanks for putting that one up on the hall of fame - I've not seen this one until now!

No I was referring to dcanon923@gmail.com in the small print. It intrigued me that his number was 923 which is the dialling code for Watford and the address in Joburg included Tolpits Lane which is the correct road for the National Lottery in Watford where my son worked for a year or 2. Presumably that's meant to enhance your confidence!! :-D
