Re: Favourite colours for cars
Me: I don't understand why everybody wants gray cars.
Also me: Of course, there is a story behind this picture.
In short: I have ordered a car. Delivery in 8 months. After 1 month I call the dealership and they asked me what was the quoted price for the car? )) In the picture, another dealership, another brand.

Re: Favourite colours for cars
So this is my new car. "Dark Teal" as they label it. I bought it from "stock" so I did not pick the color, but it is quite nice. It's now on temporary plates until I get all the papers done. It was not really on stock, I had to wait about 3 weeks, but it's better then having to wait a year.
It's a 2022 Hyundai i30 Hatchback, "Highway" trim level, it has a 1.5 T-GDI (turbo petrol) 160cp, with a manual transmission. It has a independent rear suspension and Michelin Primacy 4 S2 tires.
And no, there were no red cars

Re: Favourite colours for cars
The sunshine had the cars gleaming today.
A nice row of reds 3 Leafs and a Honda Civic.
I prefer the darker red cars. The Leaf on the far right of the photo the best of the bunch.
Regards Neil

Re: Favourite colours for cars
The image doesn't do it justice, but a very radiant shiny red paint job on this Peugeot 208 I parked next to, nicely offset by the black wheels, quite striking.

Re: Favourite colours for cars
I like this, the camera doesn't do justice to the colour, bit less washed out more bluey in real life.
A decent enough package which caught my eye, proper double doors at the back and large hole pepperpot-esque wheels.
Regards Neil

As featured on the Classic Under 10k thread I do like this:
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Re: Favourite colours for cars
That car rings a bell with me Mick, I half recall an image of it reflected in a puddle on perhaps another time it came up for auction in the image gallery with the sales blurb. May be wrong, but I'll have a little ferret see if I can find it.

Re: Favourite colours for cars
We used to paint the roof on the minis white (Or any colour of the buyer's choice), we had a disaster with one, the customer complained that it had all gone as though covered in raindrops. Our paint guy stripped it of and did it again, same result after a couple of months the same complaint.
We asked the paint company for advice, they sent out a man, a little guy in a bowler hat, he inspected it and said "Your customer is washing the car with Surf baby detergent, it's the only chemical that will do this to the paint."
Sure enough the customer admitted that was what he was doing, thought if it was good enough for babies it must be ok for cars.
We stripped it of and did it again he changed to Deb car shampoo and all sorted.

Re: Favourite colours for cars
We can't have favourite colours for cars slipping out of "active topics" and down on page 2 of my own "your posts".
FCF members will forget it exists, and new members will never see it!
easily sorted...spot a car you like the colour of photograph it and post it up
Today...nice blue on this Zoe.
Regards Neil

Re: Favourite colours for cars
My Daughter Robyn's Hybrid Clio is that colour and it's lovely... Makes a nice change from the dull, depressing gloomy dishwater greys, slivers and bluey greys favoured by so many cars these days...
Still nothing to beat a nice bright orange or yellow car for me although a nice bright red, white or blue comes a close second...
