The Ams auctions Zoe has just ended unsold, it had a start price of £2,800 I bid £2,900 the only bid but didn't meet the reserve.

A couple of these on ebay now, repossessed they claim look like new with just delivery mileage but 40mph max

Always a gamble buying online from an auction but it looked a possible at the right price.

Response from AMS is The reserve is £5,000 but they will put any offers to the vendor.
Much to far apart and that's near retail by the look of what's offered around the various sales sites.

On the back of spotting a rather nice MG5 EV today, as far as new EV's go, plenty bang for your buck and a 7 year warranty.

So they have been out a little while, never had the chance to speak to an owner see how they are enjoying the car, never had that charging buddy chat. So we will have to rely on youtube.

I've had a quick look through and have to say most of the presenters, and the style of the reviews are boring or they come up with cliched interpretations which are lazy...yes an MG5 doesn't look like a Lamborghini Aventador it's an estate car. It does what it says on the tin and it looks like an estate car. It's considerably less ugly than 99.9% of SUV's and you make your own mind up whether you like it or not. I couldn't care less what the presenter thinks about it.

So apologies if its been posted before but I've gone back to Bobby. He's got a bit of personality, he's passionate about what he does, has a quirky presentation and has his own script and goes off it if he feels like it with a few personal rants. To be honest some of the presenters he shares a stage with now on Fully Charged are pale in comparison.

Fully agree with both comments, however, I feel the lack of underneath anti-corrosion protection on the MG range would be a worry for me. (as discussed on other forums.
Shame about the Zoey, quite fancy Megane myself.

I was calling to inform you that we are able to accept your bid of £2,900 for Lot 2 Renault Zoe.
However, in order for us to proceed we must transfer over the monthly payment for the car batteries over to you before we can release the vehicle. The monthly rental is £49.
Please let me know if you would like us to proceed with the invoicing.

It does look like a good price, and probably a shot to nothing. If it has a granny cable for charging at home you dont really have to get a chargepoint installed and Tesco down the road is there at your convenience.

Best of luck if you take the plunge and it certainly will be a interesting and exciting change, and you can be assured of a number of interested members on the FCF!

Just a bit to add to the above

Edit looks like the Zoe wasnt supplied with a "granny cable" (ie one you plug into a 13A socket). Previous owner may have got one if you are lucky. No matter really I never once charged at home with the Leaf in the first 15 months of ownership and 12,000 miles.

The Ioniq was mentioned on the spotting thread... I had a look on Autotrader, they're still dear - the cheapest being a £18.5k private sale, where:

WEll todays spot of the day was indeed a Hyundai Ioniq, and Richard's observation was about 18 Months ago now.
As of today I dont expect the Hyundai Ioniq will have dropped into the bargain basement electric category, but still maintains its reputation as a very good EV.

Depends what you are prepared to pay for your motoring, and whether you can engineer low prices/kWh for your normal top up. If you are topping up "on the road" at rapid chargers there will still be a lower cost involved than with Petrol/Diesel but not that much.

Contributions welcomed in relation to the current used prices of the Hyundai Ioniq Full electric.

Unlike most EV’s I believe the Zoe doesn’t come with a granny charger. It’s a somewhat expensive optional extra although any third party one with the right (Type 2) connector should work.
