I like that James
I carry my own tea and coffee with me and in eateries and places like Costa or Starbucks I just as for a cup of hot water and most are happy to oblige for free

Re: What to buy Citrojim for Xmas
My youngest is among other things a trained 'barista' and used to work in a little restaurant in Newcastle.
Trained by the best known vendor of tea and coffee in the north east.
She is generally appalled at the quality of coffee from cafés.
She says it costs Cost and their brethren 8p per cup to make the coffee they sell.
She does have one place that she approves of greatly, Pumphreys.
A really old fashioned business - don't bother if you are in a hurry but well worth it if you're not.
A long time since I have availed myself of their wares and it was mostly to buy tea and coffee to brew at home.

I do always explain why I carry my own provisions and the reason for it. It is usually fully accepted....
Steve, I agree, the cost of Costa and the like are absolutely outrageous.. You only need to visit any shop to see the cost of the raw ingredients...
