Peter.N. wrote: 26 Jun 2022, 23:46 That's how I did it last time, went very well until I downloaded them on to my computer and they all dissapeared! Mine are 35mm and I have hundreds, can't remember where or when some of them were taken. Sadly some of the best ones have deteriorated with loss of some colours.

What film stock are they on Peter?
I have loads on Kodachrome, Ektachrome, (many self-processed in a Patterson tank, in the sixties) Fujichrome and Agfachrome. All have retained their colour well.
They have mainly been stored cool and dry, in slide magazines, in boxes and those boxes in boxes (ironically in Agfachrome chemicals boxes).

Various, Ilford, Agfa, Kodak, something called 'Gevacolour' and others, some have fared much better than others. Most are from the '50s

Perhaps storage has influenced them. Gevacolour will be Agfa-Gevaert.

Ouch.

Must have done this while shifting the furniture to make room for the projector and screen yesterday. Just got round to looking at it.

It could still be worth popping into your local Lidl (especially if it is a large branch). I got a second one (for my friend) last weekend, and today I was in a Lidl (getting an ironing board cover) and they had one digitiser left.

There is a large one near me. I'll have my car back on Friday so will make a point to look, I will be going there in any case.

Did some more copies and had better results, closed the curtains to exclude light through the windows, there is a ten million watt LED streetlight glued to the wall of my house, don't really need lights in the front rooms.
A shame they are so dirty, how it has got into the glass slides is beyond me.

Camera has a struggle focusing on the silver screen. Will have to use manual focus for the next batch.

I have to ask the question - what were you doing in a shopping centre with a long lens on ? :? Taking close up pictures of the Geraniums from a long way away ?
