It's that time of year again :)

This year's brood made their first public appearance this morning. :-D Probably less than a week old.

8 cygnets this time 'round, all looking well - though mum didn't hang around and soon shoo'd them away to quieter parts.

The SM came accompanied by B&L of B&L Autos.

The little girl said it was the coolest car at the rally.

I asked her to go and look at the back of the car, to the right of the number plate.

Which amused her greatly.
She was a cure, doing cartwheels all over then whizzing around on the mobility scooter.
Borrowed, I hasten to add, there was certainly no impediment to her mobility.

Reading this in Gibbos link:

"To carry out the work safely, CrossCountry services between Birmingham New Street and Coleshill Parkway are being replaced with rail replacement buses.

Passengers are urged to plan their journeys in advance."

I remembered hearing this phrase, or very similar, " When the conductor asked for my fare I gave him a jar of marmalade! 'What's this?' he asked. 'Its my money replacement service' I replied!!"

The question is can anyone remember where I heard it? :-D

Oh to be in England! Gibbo!

Robert Browning Home thoughts from abroad moves onto the lesser known second verse now
And after April, when May follows,
And the whitethroat builds, and all the swallows!
Hark, where my blossomed pear-tree in the hedge
Leans to the field and scatters on the clover
Blossoms and dewdrops - at the bent spray's edge -

That's the wise thrush; he sings each song twice over,
Lest you should think he never could recapture
The first fine careless rapture!
And though the fields look rough with hoary dew,
All will be gay when noontide wakes anew
The buttercups, the little children's dower
- Far brighter than this gaudy melon-flower!
buttercups not quite there, but there was a literal blizzard of cherry blossom yesterday, and the swallows are definitely back. One flew out of this little cabin, and shocked me into a a bit of involuntary exclamation of the bad words variety. :-D
