Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Wait... to USB chargers? No wireless chargers?
Some "smart" benches in my area. Some have their own wireless hot spot, but most of the dowtown area is covered by the municipal wi-fi. It has 1 wireless charger (tested, it works ) and a couple of USB ports on the other side. Also, you can find spots to charge your electric scooter / bike / laptop - I can't find a picture of these but it's just a standard rugged socket + safety circuits that are installed on some small pools and they are free to use.
Just a regular bench with 2x USB chargers.

A 'Bee Fly" apparently. New one for me.
Didn't have a camera and it was gone by the time I fetched one.

Must put my glasses on before looking, I read that signpost as pointing to Dung.

A step up from all the 'orrible slugs and snails.
I have a packet of anti-slug & snail flower seeds. Hope they banish the slimy buggers into next doors garden.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Been to Alnmouth many many times but never walked the path to the North of the Village, overlooking the appropriately names Alnmouth Village Golf Club, and the full vista of the Coast all the way down to Amble, and Coquet Island, as well as the circuitous flow of the River Aln out into the North Sea. Tide was out and the river could be easily waded/run across across from one side to the other with the water barely reaching over your ankles.
Bit of a hazy vista through the lens, but pretty clear in real life. Gorgeous day, lovely scene.

Is that with a phone Neil?
If it is a 'normal' camera, a polarising lens will reduce that haze considerably.

Just a point and click compact Steve, bit hitty-missy and with the glare on the display screen bit tricky to get a decent shot today.

This is a Tree Sparrow. Not only because its in a tree, but because it is the very much rarer of the sparrows in the UK, rarely seen, and rarely recognised. Its the one with the chestnut cap, It is a Tree Sparrow.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Interesting, we have three pairs of sparrows jostling for goodies in our garden and two of the males have the chestnut cap while the other one is just fawn coloured. All three females (I'm told by SWMBO who knows these things ) are similarly coloured fawnish heads!!NewcastleFalcon wrote: ↑23 Apr 2022, 13:50 POTD Ornithology Club

Just a blatant ad for the Xantia Activa Clare is selling as I posted her pictures for her yesterday but I suspect this thread may have more viewers!
