LEJOG

https://heroevents.eu/event-schedule/le-jog-2021/

Some kind of rally passing through Northumberland today heading North. Did have a one word answer chat with one of the "contestants" whose Alfa had no doubt been through a puddle and cut out. About as talkative as stone. Good morning was obviously two words but they thought zero words was an appropriate response to that. I noticed the LEJOG sticker on the car asked them if they were heading to John O'Groats, to which they said "Aviemore".

er Conversation terminated.

Anyway this Citroen looked as if it had been about a bit judging by the stickers, and stopped a while on double yellows, presumably to decide whether to turn left or right, long enough to take a surreptitious photo. I didn't knock on the window and give them the benefit of my local knowledge to help them out.

While I may have a chance, and a little help may be at hand towards the answer Mick, have you had a go at the impossible one...I keep giving it the odd go, and Dormouse has had a go. Have you given it a try....I'm talking about the car novel from the 1960's with nothing more than a vague recollection of the cover drawing and the subject matter!

That's probably because it is! :-D Well done Neil, it's actually quite a big church in a fairly small village about 7 miles from home, on my route to Elstree!! :-D

Thanks Mick, your image is spot on. The view was across the Tweed was looking South-ish. Over the river to the "christmas tractor" roundabout looking back, just as your image shows, the appearing larger and brighter planet of Venus was very prominent, previously blocked by the building in the "charging point" photo.

This may be of interest, you can see the heavenly bodies without binoculars or telescopes, even through clouds.
