Speaking of 'captures the light nicely' I took some shots of the sunset.
Miserable failure - I had cleverly pressed the white balance button while holding the camera awkwardly and they were very, very blue. Then the battery died.

Picture(s) of the day....

There is no threshold of photography skill for the POTD thread.<br />It does require a Picture every day to have its title integrity maintained though.

Sadly until SWMBO regains her independance I am not in a position to take any pictures on most days!! So apologies from me for my lacking contributions but normal service will be resumed when she has recovered!! (and when the Ryder Cup is over :-D )

It could have been worse. A friend was fishing one evening when he got a bite. He was very surprised when he struck, and the line went UP! It turned out he had caught a goose!

I've never had a goose but I did inadvertantly hook a drifting mallard once when winding in. He must have had his feet dangling down as I wound in my leger and the anchor spike on my weight caught round his foot. At least it didn't actually pierce his skin so after a slightly wing flapping frenetic minute or so I was able to untangle him and he swam rapidly across the lake to his island sanctuary! :)

A far more concerning incident happened to my brother-in-law to be at Woburn but I'll save that story for another day!! :-D

Well done with the contributions from your archives chaps.

Here's one from the NF POTD archive round about this time of year in 2016.

When I click on that photo Neil all I get is an invite to join photobucket.

When photobucket went pay for, everyone bailed out of photobucket, but many forums not just the FCF became or potentially became denuded of their content, formerly referenced on photobucket. Some technical wizardry saved many of the images for the FCF, but click on one of the former images...like that matchless and there is no expanding of the image just like you say a vestigial visit to the photobucket site where the images no longer exist.

A lot of those replacement valve caps are aluminuminum and weld themselves on.
Lad I worked with found that and had to have the valves replaced.
