Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Things are changing fast in the garden with the weather we are having so I went for a stroll round this afternoon:
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

No need to reveal where this is. The pose of the Lion gives it away.

I'd like to think that it is Lambton (former) Lion Park/castle.

The Poker straight tail nails it down to the Percy Lion at Lion Bridge at Alnwick Castle, been there since the 1700's , give or take a couple of dips in the river

Hmmm.
Went to Alnwick once and didn't see it.
It was 3 a.m. though, it was probably asleep.

The road over the lion Bridge was the A1 up to 1970, which went right through Alnwick Centre including passing through a narrow arch into the market place with sufficient room for only single file traffic.
Chapter and verse on the architecture of the bridge is here. Designed by Robert Adam in his castle style.

On to today's POTD from me, and its a welcome return to brick club, and a nice pair.
Regards Neil

Photographer Angus James was fortunate enough to capture this shot. He said: "As I was pulling my lure from the fish to release back into the water I noticed two little eyes looking back at me from inside the fish's mouth. After capturing this picture, the little green tree frog leaped straight past my head onto the nearest tree. It was one of the coolest things I have seen in my life! This is one lucky frog!"

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
My last post on the P.E.Jukebox was tagged with a strobogrammatic number which caught my attention to the fact that I have now reached my 6700th post which warrants a celebratory car picture. It is definitely getting to the end of this sequence but I have managed to find a suitable contender! I just wish I could afford one !!

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
A partially fallen tree which has remained dormant for decades wedged into the higher parts of surrounding trees, within the last week or so has begun tearing itself asunder from its base. Who knows it may remain in the position for decades to follows, but no one and nothing is going to stop it when it fully breaks away.

A small world! I have passed the Furness Brick works many a time, as my Mum is originally from Barrow in Furness, and they lived for nearly 15 years in Askam in Furness and we passed the brick works on the way there.NewcastleFalcon wrote: ↑21 Jul 2021, 16:24 On to today's POTD from me, and its a welcome return to brick club, and a nice pair.
This is the house she was brought up in, which my Grandad bought new in 1938, and which is almost certainly built of Furness Bricks.
The garage to the right was built by my Grandad, and home to my Velocette for a good number of years!

The Domestic Garage got an outing on the Garages Ancient and Modern thread here

Your Grandad's garage would more than grace that thread too
