Anyone ever been to Lincolnshire?

Our whatsthisthen? took us there today and to a car supplied to the now FCF-Famous Mrs Joan Smith, by John Darke Volvo, Louth, Lincolnshire in 1990.

Well a modern garage is the very definition of bland and boring, so I've gone for what John Darke's Garage looked like in the olden days.
https://john-darke.co.uk/about-us/

John Darke began his business at Red Garage in Marshchapel in 1946.

The business moved to Louth in 1956 and started by selling Gogomobils along with Hillmans, Humbers and Sunbeams from the Rootes Group which later became Chrysler Talbot.
Well its just moved up in its interest quotient by selling gogomobils! :-D

Lincolnshire , and Louth is also the home of Renault Reborn who turn out some excellent restorations.

Not quite finished yet but a friend of mine who had this rare Renault 760 from 1949 languishing on a trailer for many years decided a couple of years ago to get it restored. Obviously getting it professionally restored means a fair investment, but it was never going to happen on a DIY basis so he took the plunge and started the process. At the end of it is going to be a superb cute as anything little car, and if possibly not immediately recouping the restoration costs, will almost certainly do that later.
So this is how it started out, click the arrows in the gallery for a short run through to it beginning to be reassembled

Renault reborn also did an excellent restoration of this...

Sort of - I didn't see the blue plaque anywhere but that could be a different installation - there's one near Staithes.

You might remember the other day when I was unable to take pictures due to a pint of lime juice, well today another part of the whole story appeared in the form of the arrival of my new duvet. I unpacked it and then read the information on the packet. I am quite intrigued by the first line of the smaller white type info:
Own work
Own work
Any ideas why that might be? :-D

Meaningless marketing and totally ineffective. 74% of people sleep on their sides . Pillows apparently need to be medium to firm for back sleepers according to Silentnight.

I can accept an element of logic in certain pillows for back sleepers but what difference can any type of Duvet make? :-D

I think you'll find it's because they've made the duvet to very fine tolerances so it can't be inadvertently swallowed by people sleeping on their backs :rofl2:
Sadly no longer a C5 owner :(

Could it be that being only a 4.5 tog it isn't very heavy to support on your toes if you're a back sleeper? :-D
