I've been practising my stunt car driving today :rofl2:
Car on edge - own work

Rather more boringly - a pre-clean of the underside in preparation for lobbing some underseal at it during the week :)

And how do you like them apples?

These two trees (red at the back) are never picked, the fruit drops to the ground and rots away every year.

The west wind was blowing strong in Northumberland today thats for sure and it was moving among the fields of barley. Didn't see Sting wandering about in the fields though!

This single rook is not a parliament but undoubtedly the crow family does have the best collective nouns.

Phil Gates on his Weardale Diary has taken this brilliant picture of one of my favourite birds, obviously taking up on the fields of barley theme on FCF POTD :-D

for the photographers Phil was asked what lens he used to which he replied...

"Panasonic 100-400 at max focal length. Great lens but took me 2 years to save up for it!"

Not Me Peter, it came in little cans with foil seals you used to pull off in my early motoring days.

This bloke wants £85 for one, but his label is a little less faded than yours :-D

With this post it is 4994 posts and 4993 replies on the POTD thread, with the replies inevitably and always being one behind the number of posts.

I found out about these today. They are edible but it would be hard to find someone who has tried them.
The plant is likes a bit of poor, compacted soil around foot paths, field entrances, waste ground and road sides. Very common on disturbed ground...you will have seen it.

Next time you come across it take one of the flower heads and squeeze it in your fingers then smell it. It has a distinctive and not unpleasant smell but what is it?
