A picture of this appeared on my login to the old laptop today.
11 Million Bricks, mostly from the Netherlands, bit of stone from France but most importantly it's characteristic four decorative pavilions at each end....from a quarry near Heddon on the Wall

Well if you click on the link you will find out why tht weekend's lastest storm following Storm Dennis, has not been named Storm Ellen. Half way down the piece.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
The Citroen Ami and the Renault 4, takes it into the 1960's and the general oldness of the cars keeps it there I would guess, even though both continued into production in the 1970's.

I think I for one need a clue Derek, cant be sure but it doesnt look like Boulogne-Sur-Mer to me. It looks Honfleur-ish but I expect it isnt. Decade has to be the 60's though

Not a great deal different today:
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@50.06082 ... 8192?hl=en
A little further South from Boulogne - Le Treport. And yes - 1960's. From a postcard.
Easier to spot the cars that were NOT built in France. That much HAS changed!
How's this for Bling!
Knebworth '86? The International CCC rally.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Expensive is the word Chris, they have a huge showroom just off Junction 5 of the M1 which we went to and toured before refitting our bathroom. We spent an hour or so there and left empty handed, everthing was too mod and angular for our liking and there is no way I'd pay £4.99 for a six inch tile!! That would have cost me over £600 just to tile the walls where we did in fact renew the suite, tile the walls and floor with underfloor heating and install a new shower all for just over £1000, good old B&Q!!white exec wrote: ↑01 Mar 2020, 07:39 Porcelanosa - a large and extremely expensive manufacturer and seller of ceramic tiles, etc.

We have a local tile supplier close by at Chepstow who have been discounting Spanish and Italian tiles for years.mickthemaverick wrote: ↑01 Mar 2020, 07:57Expensive is the word Chris, they have a huge showroom just off Junction 5 of the M1 which we went to and toured before refitting our bathroom.
