It's an Azalea in full bloom, Jim. The sun just happened to be illuminating it at the time.

Now you've stepped beyond the nice round 16000, do you think it'll have a bearing on what you post next?mickthemaverick wrote: 22 May 2025, 20:53 Some of you may remember when I began on the forum I used to post a car with the appropriate sized engine each time I added another 100 posts. I believe that stopped at the 6300 mark and subsequently I posted the odd celebratory picture at other milestones. Well it's that time again I'm sure you'll all be delighted to know!![]()

It's been a long time since I've seen any blancmange - strawberry or otherwise. Can you still buy it in the shops ?

I used to do exactly the same as you for a friend in Germany, Mick. A large pot of Marmite was required once a year. Good job it never goes off

My dad used to make blancmange from milk and cornstarch. Just white as the name implies, he used to call it cornflour mould though, or 'blumminge'.

Well I can report that Morrisons do have Blancmange on the shelf:
Although it's fair to say they do not consider it a big seller!!

In an effort to promote participation here is a link to the newest quiz question on the Quiz thread which only seems to have two participants at the moment so maybe this will guide some of our newer members to it!
