50 points claimed!!! :-D
Yes very good mick but only 49.99 points...I would still have to go to the immense effort of translating "la Petite Tonkinoise" to find out literally what the noun refers to. I am guessing a small tit!

Regards Neil
It would appear you may be in error there Neil!! Tonkinoise translates into tonkinese which is believe it or not:

What is a Tonkinese ?
A Tonkinese is a cat that results from a mating between either:

A Siamese Cat and a Burmese Cat OR
Two Tonkinese Cats.

Every day's a schoolday!! :-D

One of the recordings painstakingly restored here.

Bit more of a current "restoration" featuring Josephine Baker. She's almost in the room :-D

The Hazel O'Connor vid led on a random path though a few saxophonists to land at one of the most iconic Sax solos in popular music, and apart from the Sax, what a virtually perfect piece of popular music Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty is...

I think it's a now objectionable word for a Vietnamese child, from the French colonial days.
Man is, by nature, a lazy beast, he does not need twice encouraging to do nothing.

All good saxophonists. I have always had a soft spot for sax since hearing Clarence Clemons in the early sixties/late fifties.
Somehow he picked up the nickname 'frogman', actually attributed to Clarence Henry.

Candy Dulfer is a favourite, along with Jorja Chalmers.

Onward and upward:

First heard performed by KiKi Dee, in an English translation.

Doesn't the Cello have the most emotional voices of all the instruments...

"The 2CELLOS" have some very pleasant offerings.

One of them, Stepjan Hauser plays some nice stuff together with Lola Astanova

One of my favorites though is Nadia Lanman together with Heather Nova.
The cello makes this song.

A nod to another thread.
Not a cello but a violin.

Karolina Protsenko

Who is also Ukrainian, along with her cousin on sax.

Lola brings her own delights to the party.

She does break with my current theme, being Russian, from Uzbekistan.

Tracks with easily discernable footsteps in them number 1

(on the back of todays Heardle)

Oops, not very discernable..I thought there were definite footsteps on gravel before the car starts... Well see if anyone else can come up with a track with footsteps on it, real ones not in the the lyrics, like Womack and Womack, or indeed anything from Stepps even if it has easily discernable "stepps" on it...... :-D
