Just in case anyone is getting confused with this evening's postings on POTD here is the real thing:

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

A more decorative 'real thing'.
Impressed with her playing, especially in high heels.

I've seen that before she's got it all. :) I let it continue through the next half dozen videos.

Not sure the word 'playing' was needed in that sentence Steve! :-D

She is exceptionally good but sidelined and criticised a lot for her supermodel looks and her choice of clothing.

Her 'Rhapsody In Blue' is superb and she dresses down a lot for it.

A very interesting and exhaustive playist started up on the other laptop last night*

One of the first up was this:-

Pretty Marmite for most people, I borrowed an LP from the library when this was young and loved it, so have an LP (bought)! and a CD.

It is kind of 'Black & White' music, inasmuch as it is more art than commercial and like monochrome photography has a subtle 'less is more' character.
I like that way the instruments interweave and can actually hear the contribution of the percussion, that is normally just a lot of rattling and clattering.
The breathy voice fits perfectly.
One of the outstanding things that I like is her pronunciation/enunciation.
I love the way she says 'water'.
Contradictory as I despise American accents and pronunciation normally. I make an exception here.

* Laptop sound is crap, no getting away from it, but this Dell is better than most.
I don't use the speakers though, but pipe it through a harman/kardon amp and Jamo speakers which greatly improves it. Except it has been 'humming' from just before the start until a few seconds after some music finishes. I expected that the amp was at fault - it is at least twenty years old.
Plugged headphones in and it was worse, like being underwater.
So the phone/speaker output as the built in speakers are still OK, as OK as laptop speakers get anyway.
So I now have two laptops running side by side, one with Chromium and YouTube etc, the other with Firefox and everything else.
Gets complicated. I managed to type a paragraph into this one that was waiting for my password, thinking I was entering text into an email on the other.

Neil posted this up on the First Day thread but I'm sure he won't mind me reproducing it here as I believe it deserves a slot on our jukebox !! :-D

BBC 4 have been running a series of one hour music programmes, I've watched three of them, last night it was Shirley Bassey, pretty well a catalogue of her performances through the years,
In the previous days it was 'Duets at the BBC'' and The BBC sings Bond.'

It is hissing down here too. However, LOML is obviously feeling better about our little black fly incursion. One single blighter seen today when she cleaned the kitchen, again. Cue Snow Patrol on the HiFi. I bet the neighbour's crockery was shaking in their cupboards. I could feel it in the shelves I was putting in for her new wardrobe
