If ever a set of lyrics didn't make sense to me it's these, but I love the song!!

so I thought it worth posting my favourite version adapted for the occasion:

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Following on in the Leonard Cohen theme I think this video has some fantastic film of birds in flight. If you're not a Cohen fan turn the sound off and watch the video just for the visuals!!

Leonard Cohen, since he first appeared, is one of the few men I can listen to.
He has always been a family favourite.

I recently found my negatives from the concert in Stockholm I was at in the early seventies.
No darkroom to print them though. Must get a negative scanner one day.

Here is a slight variation.

Technically not his song. It is is a poem by C.P. Cavafy.

Possibly the most tragic version of Halleluja. Imogen's voice is so broken here.

Nice set there Steve, but if you think that version is tragic you should hear me singing it!! (That is something you definitely don't want to do :-D )

Just the brokenness of her voice, made like that specifically for the OC on the death of one of the cast - Marissa IIRC. She doesn't normally sing like that but she does make a lot of music for TV and films.

Went for a walk to the next village for bread and milk, had my phone as am mp3 player and LC's last CD was playing as I got home. Very hard to put down.

Rather alarmingly, as I was passing a primary school, there were two ambulances and a police van drove into the school and were still there as I passed again on my way home haf an hour later.

That track reminded me of another track around a table, and then I realised we havn't paid tribute to the passing of one of the finest country singers of our times. Sadly he slipped away on March 20th amid the Covid-19 Pandemic news and hardly had a mention. He definitely deserved more:

I wasn't aware that "The Gambler" was one of his, only heard it by First Aid Kit.

This was probably the first male singer/musician that I had any regard for and that was probably because Joan Baez endorsed him. It was years before I found the dynamic between him, her, her sister Mimi and Richard Fariña.

Do you recall where you were when you heard?

I was on my way home from an Exhibition at Olympia, The Boys and Girls I believe, when Dad pointed it out on a newstand poster!!
Ironically I was on Earls Court station, on my way home from another exhibition, 3 and a bit years later when I heard Donald Cambell had died!!

I was having a lazy lie in this morning watching the TV when a program called Gold Diggers came on about Australian prospectors and describing the tough life it is. It reminded me of this rather mournful tale:

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!
