Came across this during an evenings reminiscing here in Mallorca:

And if you weren't taken with Larry Adler have a listen to this, I honestly did not realise the instrument was capable of producing this, let alone the skill to play it!! :) :) :)

The Phil Spector Christmas Album or more accurately "A Christmas Gift for you from Phil Spector"
Did anyone buy the Vinyl of it either now or at some time since its release?

It has 13 tracks on it. 3 from the Ronettes, 3 from the Crystals, 2 from "Bob B. Soxx and the Blue
Jeans", one communal effort from from "Phil Spector and Artists" but who did the other 4 tracks?
Spoiler: show
Darlene Love
and in fine pickled egg tradition lets go for the least obvious

The winter playlist of the Pickled Egg jukebox has some excellent tracks on it. I discovered today that December Song by George Michael samples Frank Sinatra's Chrismas Waltz for its beginning and end.

So I started off the playlist at Georges song...on follows Abba with "Happy New Year" I could listen to Agnetha all day long, then the classic "New Years Day" from U2, then Leonard Cohen "Dance me to the end of Time".

So just to dig up the old playlist, here it is kicking off with george...

and for a bit of new discovery here's Frank with Christmas Waltz

Oddly enough I have had Leonard Cohen's "Dear Heather" CD on this evening, which I haven't had off the shelf for ages and usually listen mostly to "Undertow" which is mainly Anjani singing.

But discovered a forgotten one: Villanelle For Our Time

I had assumed that Villanelle was just a name (Killing Eve) but apparently a form of poetry.
Every day a school day.

Too early for the annual appearance of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra?

Or the debut of something a little more mellow
