I thought it was a front badge on a bicycle when I looked yesterday but could only think of Peugeot and Pathway so didn't go any further as it was a busy day! :-D

Know your Brands

What is the Makers Name missing from this "Badge"?

On your marks, get set...go!
Have a go class of Thursday 4th July 2024, small amount of help, the vehicle is a 2-wheeler. :-D
OK its a two wheeler. It's a traditional UK Manufacturer. How many bicycle manufacturers begin with "P"....not many.

If you know your bikes those silvery things operate the front brakes and they are characteristic of that manufacturer at the time.

Dont like these things to drag on. Thanks Mick just after Pashley as the maker. The actual bike I didnt take a full photo of quite a rusty old thing. The second pic was just from an auction site showing a similar badge, and the rod operated brakes and was the model you identified.

I should have known that but these are the models I remember:

My first job when I left school was riding a similar bike, a Gundle, around Birmingham collecting parts from the various suppliers for the garage workshop, I nearly ran over a cop on point duty when riding downhill with a big Wolseley flywheel in the basket, couldn't stop.

Thanks Gibbo interesting links, fine fodder for the "On your bike thread" so I'll put a link on there, on the remote chance that the "on your bike" subscribers and viewers are curious enough to click :-D

On Gundle, one of the acquisitions of Pashley now.
from Graces Guide https://www.gracesguide.co.uk/Pashley
1974 Pashley acquired Gundle, the only other surviving manufacturer of carrier cycles. For many years Gundle models were built alongside the Pashley range, before being absorbed into the Pashley RH range. The RH range was named after Rath's local public house - 'The Robin Hood' in Hall Green. Pashley also made 'SW' (Small Wheel) bikes and does so today under the name 'Delibike'

What a shame "Gundle" didn't become a household name and, over time become a verb (like Hoover = do the hoovering) -
"I went for a relaxing Gundle down the towpath" :rofl2:

Well going for a gundle is definitely preferable to having a pashley but I think I'll stick to my first love and just go Raleighing!! :-D

I was Rudge-ing a Rudge Pathfinder from about my thirteenth birthday until I bought my first car aged twenty four, nearly got killed when I was sixteen when I hit a dog in the dark and ended up with a fractured skull (Some say it explains a lot.) :)
