A guy I know got barred from a McD's for tipping a McFlurry over one of the staff's head as it didn't measure up to the one in the photo above the till !
Everyone could be guilty of that! I rarely frequent such places these days but in the past every time I've gone in and seen the picture of a burger it looks lovely and appetising. What is served in a paper box never bears any relation to it and looks about as appetising as a lump of coal.

Long ago, I realised that were I ever to give up vegetarianism, I'd have to "start" myself on McSh*t. It's sufficiently removed from real meat product, that you'd probably have less gut issues adjusting.

The ones in the photos take 45 minutes to prepare, there's a video on youtube released by McDonalds covering all of this.
I'm just glad that Danielle doesn't mind McDonalds because the foul tasting charred over priced crud that Burger King slops out is vile.

Do you know who's definitely off my xmas card list? My ruddy solicitors! They don't respond to emails despite them saying that's their prefered mode of contact, they don't answer the phone and when they do they fob you off with "The solicitor dealing with your matter is tied up, he will call you back" no he bloomin' well won't!

That's normal for them...

They train for years to be like that. Heck, it's what their degree is in...

It's just so illogical. The sooner they get it sorted, the sooner they get paid. As it is I'm thinking of not paying them until the near the end of the 28 day period after completion.

When I was going through my divorce some years ago, I asked my solicitor when it was all likely to be finished.

"When financial exhaustion sets in on one or both sides" was his word-for-word answer. Seeing as they were the only people we were giving money to, I found his answer somewhat irritating. I've had no respect for them ever since. My ex-wife and I came to an agreement ourselves in the end.

I've only had to use solicitors on three occasions and found them all (different firms, different towns) to be very responsive and extremely helpful.
None of them cost me a penny.
Maybe I'm just lucky.

I was talking to a colleague about it this morning and her nephew and his new partner have just missed out on a new house because of his ex.
The ex has him still on the mortgage, so he's not entitled to help to buy until he's removed from it. Ex has been making excuses like the paperwork arrived but had her name wrong, and the latest was she was waiting for more paperwork from the mortgage company.
As he's still on the mortgage he phoned them up to ask them what's taking so long. "We've not received any instruction to remove you from the mortgage sir" the evil cow hadn't even started the ball rolling just to screw him and his new life up!

Steve, when I bought my first house about 13 years ago, the solicitor I had was excellent despite being inexpensive. When I came to sell the house I used him again and he ended up charging me less than he quoted. Thinking back, he had a big smile, wild eyes and a bushy beard. Looked a bit like a grey version of the Unseen University librarian. Oook.

During my time in the retail motor trade I had dealings with many solicitors, the one thing they all had in common was that they all had pots of money. Surprisingly, very few ever read a contract before signing it.
A friend of a friend is a criminal defense specialist, mainly working as a court/ police station duty solicitor. He's pleading poverty at the moment. So few cases that need him are reaching court presently that he's really struggling to make a living. Crime rates have plummeted apparently.
Make of that what you will.
Also not at all fond of Christmas as it is today.
Cheers

I've had too many dealings with solicitors in my lifetime and generally have found them very much members of the school of squeeze the client until the pips squeak. Financial exhaustion is a good term for it

House transactions involve the most unholy alliance of an estate agent and a solicitor. How each can charge for what they do and sleep well at night is beyond me. My conscience would never allow it.

The only solicitor I've dealt with who was half-decent and fairly Ok was the one who did my last will.

I heard yesterday I have to go to my work team Christmas dinner on Friday lunchtime :x I WILL hate it.

Ahh, sadly it's team orders Steve. Can't be avoided. Attendance is compulsory...

Can't get it here on prescription any more though I do have a box of Buprenorphine and a box of Clonazepam in the cupboard.

Ex Army friend of mine has Xanax for PTSD, I have had one in the past :-)

Much preferable to a works Christmas lunch. Then again, there's not a lot that isn't.
