Re: Lexia group discount through moderator?
Sorry for posting a question and then wandering off but I have been sorting this out as suggested.
The Laptop (13 yrs old) does have a dvd player but having reloaded it to factory settings it is possibly not reading dvds correctly, hence not showing anything in the cd/dvd drive.
I have spent the day copying folders from CD/DVD to the C drive on my desktop PC and to a memory stick, very slow PC, and kept timing out with various messages. Still all done now so I have a PC copy just in case and a memory stick version to install on the Laptop tomorrow.
Once I could see what was on the DVD I read the install instructions, handy having a PC copy so I can run from the memory stick to install on the laptop. At the same time I can read the install instructions on the PC so can put in the codes etc. as shown there.
The Laptop is going to be Lexia only as it has been unused for a few years anyway, handy as any problems and I can just relaoad from scratch.
The Laptop is not connected to the net and it seems from the instructions, and comments here, best not to bother anyway. Just install / run the software as is without updates as there is no need to log on to the net to set it up and no updates necessary for me as newest car is a 2005 C3.

Re: Lexia group discount through moderator?
Glad to hear that you're getting it sorted John, re updating I've used mine on a 2008 or 2009 C3 Picasso successfully and cleared faults without a problem so best to use it as it is, if it ain't broke etc

Just wanted to say a big thanks to Richard for all his help in obtaining these Lexias. Over the moon with mine and have been using without issue. What a useful tool they are!

Re: Lexia group discount through moderator?
Hi, I am new to Lexia. I didn't own one but wanted / planned to have one if possible.
I've only seen my mechanics playing around Lexia3 so far.... Not sure one the software version...
If I wanted to own one, please advise what would be specification that i should have. Now I am having ZX16V but perhaps a year down to road, I am planning to own C5 or C8, for my family.
I've also seen numbers of website selling lexia including ebay, but there are too many variances and the more i look at it, the more i getting confuse.
Please advise.

Re: Lexia group discount through moderator?
Well I finally got round to setting up the Lexia I bought a while ago through this offer, would someone please give me a run through on how to validate it. I've spent an age today running through the process as describe earlier in the thread, I get a validation code but I keep getting the number not valid message code 11.

Re: Lexia group discount through moderator?
Gibbo, I'll remind myself of the procedure and post it up later.
Rob,
I was speaking to the supplier last night and it looks like another batch may be available very soon, if you're seriously interested send me a pm.

Re: Lexia group discount through moderator?
Create a blank txt file in the C/: drive prior to installation, then install Lexia3_45, connect the Lexia interface to the computer USB, then using the software disc click on the keygen tab and enter 001 in the top box, Lexia-345 in the "number of the version" box and ensure the correct code for "identifier of your PC" is entered, click "get code" and either copy and paste or write that code down then put that generated code in the activation screen box, job done. I'm not very knowledgeable with computers but have managed to install it on a couple of computers now.Gibbo2286 wrote:Well I finally got round to setting up the Lexia I bought a while ago through this offer, would someone please give me a run through on how to validate it. I've recently bought a BMW GT1 (dealer diagnostic tool) and by comparison using Lexia is a breeze as it's far more intuitive than the GT1 which is requiring me to do extensive research just to carry out basic tasks.

The right identifier for your pc? Where do I find that Richard?

Re: Lexia group discount through moderator?
On the page that you enter the activation code, the identifier code for your pc is shown on that screen.Gibbo2286 wrote:The right identifier for your pc? Where do I find that Richard?
Insert the Lexia disc in your computer then click on "Lexia", "Activation Instructions", "Activations process screenshots" and you'll see the process, the identifier code is shown on screens 5, 6 and 7.

Re: Lexia group discount through moderator?
Still having no luck with this Richard, followed the instructions to the letter, even uninstalled and reinstalled the program tried again, ran the update to Lexia 347 and tried again, now pulling my hair out, not had this trouble with a program in the last ten years, any more ideas what's wrong or what I might be doing wrong? It comes up every time with number not valid.

Any chance on a fix for this Richard please or is this tool going to remain just an expensive ornament?

Apologies for the lack of an update but ATM I'm pretty much working and sleeping on my present contract at the Olympics, when I get the chance I'll update accordingly.
