Yes I did both of those.

Finally I just sorted it.

I had to program that PEF was changed, even though its not.

As "one guy said", after 120k+ miles, PEF needs to be replaced, so it is programmed into to ECU to throw a warning that it might get clogged.

Thanks guys for your help.

Yes, it needs to know it's been replaced - as it calculates the amount of Cerine (additive constituent that cannot be burnt) that has been dumped into the filter and decides it needs changing / cleaning.

Can anyone recommend a garage in Bristol to undertake a eolys tank refill for me?

Thanks!

Hello, MFHBlueberry, this reply may be a bit late for you but I had my C5 eoyls tank refilled and the ecu reset by A E Wilcox and Son, Wickwar. It's not too far from you and they are an old school type of garage but up to date with the latest equipment. Their phone number is 0-one-four-five-four- 2-nine-4-two-13. The main garage is on the way into Wickwar from Yate but the service garage is in the town, right by the traffic lights. Look for the MG sale room.

So got the additive low warning in my c5 x7 DW10BTED4 from 2008. Diagbox showed 560 ml remaining. I added one liter which I had at home. Is it possible to tell the ecu I just added 1000 ml? Thanks

No it's not possible Jonas - it's why the whole system should really be topped up - in this case ideally a 3 litre kit. For this engine, they fill the tank to 3.1 litres at the factory - so I suggest as you have refilled it with 1 litre, you get another 2 litres (2 x 1lt) and top it up completely with what it will take, then reset the additive counter.

Many thanks Marc. I will do. According to my ecu, the volume of the additive reservoir is 2800 ml. Is that what I should aim for?

I wouldn't worry about that too much - the volume of additive is not physically measured - just estimated, so get another litre in, then on the second litre, just top it up until it's had enough and you should be fine.

DPF Fluid- which one to choose?

Post by Nikita031 »

Hello All. I am the owner of 2016 Peugeot 508 BlueHdi, 110kw/150PS with 120,000km on the clock. My SERVICE lamp is on and diagnostics says that I should top the DPF additive up. And here is the problem- the button on the tank connector under the car is green which indicates that Walker Eolys 176 should be used. But according to all other parameters- DAM number, car model, year of production- blue PowerFlex additive should be used. Did anyone have similar experience and how should I make decision between these two? The worst thing is that these two additives are not compatible, so I should be very careful with the choice. Please for your help. Thanks.

Hi, and :welc: to the Forum. I am not able to help you directly, but might I suggest you post the VIN up here, so that those people who can help can see what exactly what your vehicle is, and what the requirements are. The VIN will be automatically obscured so only Forum staff can read it. Due to the fact that the PSA Group now charges for certain information you may be asked to make a donation to the Forum, but this will then cover you for this and next year should you need to ask more questions.

DON'T mix the fluids, as some are very definitely incompatible and will cause all sorts of problems.

The click fit connectors on the additive tank are a guide only and should not be solely relied on.

Pop your VIN up here and I'll tell you which you need.

Hi guys and thanks for your help. VIN No. VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]. Additionally, I would like to refer to DAM number which can be found on the door pillar behind the driver seat: 14325CJ. The number below (I am not quite sure what it stands for) is 10319. Hope this will help. Thanks.

The RPO number suggests your car started production on 28th January 2016 in the Rennes la Janais factory in France.

Ok so your RPO as it's now called means you need Powerflex additive, which has been used on vehicles built on or after March 2010. It's always important to double check.
