OK, everyone's shy with the show and tell, so I thought you folks would be interested in the 'slightly modified' Activa here to get the ball rolling :D:

Interesting colour coordinated spheres too:

Umm, I'm really not sold on thse Activa custom jobs at all. I much prefer mine as Citroen intended. Truth be told I'm rather into originality and used to run one of the only totally standard 205GTis in the country. I even went as far as returning parts of it back to standard.

Having said that, top jobs in the pictures above. I do like the colour co-ordinated spheres though. I wonder if Pleiades will do mine in Dantes' Red when they refurbish them?

Have you checked out the ACTIVA clips on YouTube ?

Some are adverts... some are owners' clips.

Take a look.

cheers, Kev

Found this seccond hand, well taking care of masterpiece, in mint condition, besides a few setbacks.

The foam on the sidewall of the drivers seat (that would make it the left seat  ) has an internal wear patern, but the top layer is perfect.

One of the strings in the rear compartment shelf is snaped(a seccond hand is salavaged, but hardly just as perfect, the sun light has greyed it out to some extend)
The sting-system looks weired, or to weired to just interchange. Will be looking at this next time round.

The ign.key has a black rubber like compound to activate the locking system, and look and feels awfull, wouldnt it be sweet if you could get a new housing to go with so a nice car..oh-well.

So..What do i know of this car :

1997 Phase 1 V6 Activa 5 speed maual with automatic aircondition.

194 Bhp. ES9J4 Engine with 199.000 Km behind it.

Image

An aftermarket cruisecontrol has been fitted, and now unfittet(seen in the photo)

T-Belt kit has been fitted@ 175.000 km
Aircon tubes and Spheres filled with gas/or checked also.

Everything electiric works i.e mirrors, wanity mirros light etc.

Oh-wait..did i mention the "minor setback" in remowal of the heater matrix :x

Image

This little operation demanded all hands on deck, so even my Boss got his hands full..so to speak

Since the car is new to me, and the full story of the car has yet to be told, concider this as a little teaser.

Wow. Thank you Christian!

Not much room in that engine bay is there!!
Green as well - my joint favorite Activa colour to Delage Red!

To be honest, I didn't realise a manual V6 was even an option available
anywhere!! Guess it saw fitment in a Peugeot 406 etc - is it a 5 speed
gearbox.

Yes sir..5 speed..And on the 205/60 x 15 it makes 100 Mph @ barely 4.000 RPM, and really starts to pick up speed

Im used to the BE 3/6 gearbox in the 405( from the Pug 306) and find my self ready to jump in to 6 gear more than once

We do have plenty Xantia's back home, but 99% are 1,8 16V ..so this is truly a "sleeper", and to my mind..only the dual stainless tailpipes gives it away, but on closer inspection it seems a tad wider on the front axel..as in the track has been made just a bit wider, so is the wheel arch, maybee im wrong

The range in 5 gear is impressive though, smooth driving from 1000rpm to 6.000+ it redlines beyond 6.200, havent had any reasson to go beyond the redline yet. Can't really see any good reason to install 6 -speed on this though. This Xantia gonna stay stock i every aspect.

270 Nm @ 4.000rpm stock and 192 Bhp. on RON 95, and hums in idle @ 700 rpm i gues, definitely way below the 1.000 rpm mark.

Nice V6 you have there, but it's not quite stock on the exterior... seems to have tail lights from Mk2 Xantia. ;) Here's my '98 V6 side by side with a '97 V6 for reference:

Image

BTW, the idle speed is 650rpm. :) And all V6 Activas are manuals...

Thought I was seeing double at first!

Unfortunately, not only did Citroen Uk decide the only engine available as rhd
in the Activa was the 2.0i TCT, they also lumbered the V6 with an autobox! :x
Is the clutch on your V6 hydraulically assisted as the UK 2.0iTCT is?

The V6 Activa was actually the only Xantia where they paired the V6 engine with a manual.

The clutch is cable operated. And the gearbox isn't same as in TCT either. Not sure what make/model the box is though, but it's probably the same unit they used in the manual version of Peugeot 406 3.0 V6.

Since this is labeled readers riders, ill put our old Activa up, must be over 2 years since we had it now :(

Image

For some reason that camera made bright colours even brighter (look at the green behind) so the colour looks like a flat red. It was the Activa red (Dantes red?), great colour 8)

We need more Activa pictures 8)

From what you've said elsewhere about wanting a grey Activa I'm
surprised the one in Coventry isn't high on your Xmas wish list Chris! :P
Guess I'll have to volunteer to buy it if nobody else wants the hassles of
fixing minor odds and sods on it - I totally missed the fact I had an mot! :D
Somebody has to stop them killing it!!

In case you've missed it, there is another posting in the Activa area here
as an owners Activa Register:

http://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/v ... hp?t=25114

now at the very end of the list!!

Anyone fancy flipping it to the front of the list by adding details of their
lovely Activa

Hi Andrew,

Ive been thinking about that grey one, it is closer than a lot of other cars ive considered, but there is always the problem of getting it home. I doubt my Xm would/should tow it on a trailer!

There is no info about suspension either, im always wary now from the experiences with ours, so id have to take a look before hand.

I really hope it doesnt get broken, ill certainly be keeping an eye on the bidding, if it stays low i may put in a bid :)

I have seen the Activa register, although since i dont have one now i wont put in the details of the old one. I take it early Activas had the sunroof from standard? I think most Xantias did, didnt they?

If anyone has seen out old one (N293 YVN) or owns it, please let me know. Ive checked the DVLA and it is still taxed, until the beginning of the year :!:
