Closing price will probably be around $5000; at least $4500 but condition will reflect the balance of this.

I paid $6000 for the SX estate - with a puncture, two tyres older than the car, four flat spheres, a leaky heater core, two cracked door hinges, low gas in the aircon, unwashed for over a year, black oil, coolant leaking from the water pump, dry rotted wiper blades, malfunctioning rear wiper, flat batteries in the remote and it needed a timing belt plus other engine consumables. Perhaps this is why I give a bit of stick to people complaining about a sub-£1000 Cit with a few issues.

Our cars are built to Australian Standards - more stringent than UK market in terms of crash protection from some angles, more cussed in other details being (legally) unacceptable interchanges. Private imports are not easy; they're do-able but it's a dose of mucking about as you have to live in the UK for a period beforehand while owning it...

So, for that reason of exclusivity plus the locally high prices, the vendor will get good money for his vehicle. It won't be at all corroded, either.

Regards, Adam.

Hi James, glad to read you're enjoying the Activa, and thanks for taking care of it! :)
Sl4yer wrote: ... and as Thomas pointed out it can rise unevenly from on one side. But I'll play with that some more tomorrow.
Just remember the little mechanical issue: if you lower the setting from high to normal, put the suspension control lever a few millimeters below the normal position and then to normal. This will make the car sink on the front and back. Don't know if anyone here has a fix for this. :?:
Sl4yer wrote:I've never driven around a roundabout just for fun before, but did tonight whilst showing a friend what it could do!
:D I've done this with my wife a few times, also in my previous BX and (non-Activa) Xantia. So roundabouts on holidays are always fun.
Sl4yer wrote:Amazing grip, and that was in the wet too.
Indeed. Some people have said "it's not on the right tyres" (Goodyear Vector, all-weather), but that's just wrong in winter! (What's the use of a W rated summer tyre if the rubber gets stiff below 10 degrees, and you just slide over water and wet leaves?)
Sl4yer wrote:PS. Now that my girlfriend has seen it and travelled in it, she quite likes it too! :D

:D

Have fun

Another S2 on Autotrader, in green with leather. Front windows need attention, and it's done 130K. £650 seems a bit steep for the mileage. Hope the link stays working:

Why is the mileage an issue? Its got a great spec and looks to be in good condition, and its a late car too. £650 i reckon is a bit of a bargain.

Good price that. A leather S2 is rare.

Activas are eventually going to start rising in price as they get rarer and people start appreciating them!

To be fair, Sl4yer has already mentioned this a few posts here earlier

Looking at the seats they have the larger side support on the back rest, therefore would appear to be the full higher spec electric seat!

As opposed to the other more basic leather seat with only squab height adjustment.

It's also just possible to see the controls on the third picture at the very bottom.

...and without a front fog light but a leaky ram just for good measure!
Hope his reserve spares it being scrapped but it'll struggle to pass £3-400
the way things look at the moment!

Ohh, I don't know Andrew, right colour, rare spec. Worth £300 easily. Car looks presentable apart from having one eye out (call it Nelson!) and who knows, that leak may be just a strut return pipe perished...

Original dealer was Moto Baldet (now defunct) of Northampton. Recognised it as having a local (to me) registration... Go for it Andrew. It's local to you; well, it's in Wales...

  That's a bit like saying a car in Penzance is close to you because
it's in England!! :D

The car could've been an ideal candidate to drop a V6 in and put my A6TVA
number on but the sunroof (or lack of) is an immediate no no - that's how
much the hole in the lid means to me.

Why do the rear bumper joints spring out like that on some cars and not
others - have they had a nudge from the rear and bent the supports?

Grotty wheels too.

I'll watch it with interest but pray it doesn't get ruined for the sake of an
engine - dammit - I bought a fully accessorised low mileage 2.0i turboCT
engine off ebay the other day off an Xm despatcher who got the engine
for a Pug 306 but never did anything about using the engine...

...the price? £50  :x  :x

Plus, I'm still not sure about the leather even with electrics and heaters;
prefer the heated Activa cloth as best seats ever in any Xantia.
