Thank you all for your comments, must admit I had a sealant put it after I had the gasket test as the garage are working on a process of elimination and I have noticed the gushing water is now more of a slow flow that I can hear but not as bad. Still really concerned and am going to do much investigation at the weekend before the garage gets hold of it on Tuesday. They suggested a new rad as the next step. Looking at it yesterday I can see a clump of blue/green crystals which suggests a leak, but I can't find it when the engine is running very hot no water pissing out as I would expect. Spanners if you could find any info on that citroen bulletin that would be appeciated. Thank you Jon good point my Dad had thought of this as well and we will attempt this at the weekend. Hope your ZX is sorted. Gareth, it's Miss Oakley by the way. I visited the saxo sports site to find others who have had similar problems and I found the responses to be an interesting read even if the "lads" are of such mentality as you say. I will let you all know what happens on Monday.

Hey Gareth,
This is why we have 'smileys" like this which according to our legend isn't presently working so just go with
I'm sure that Loakley78 isn't offended as I think it's a credit to any female to post such a message & be so competant in knowledge that it is taken for granted that she was a "Mr." I personally reckon it's great to see and I'm not being patronising. There's a lady on the BX Q & A forum called Babs who is the widow of a motor mechanic who used to work with her late husband and who I'd back with her knowledge and ability around a motor car against anyone of any sex; she is brilliant. It's about time a few of the girls started showing an interest in their motor cars and placing themselves in the position of being able to sit some of these grease monkeys on their tails when they start treating 'em like fools.
Go for it Loakley; you'll get all the support and help we can give you. Hope plenty more follow your lead.

Hi all, apologies for this late reply. I have bearly used my saxo in fear of damaging the engine.
Quick update, a pressure test proved the radiator was leaking, had it replaced-no longer losing water hooray! I have it regularly bled as the gushing water is STILL THERE! Have had another pressure test which proved there was no further leaks and there is no damage to the head. I am too worried to drive it incase I do damage the head or anything else.
Is the system being bled incorrectly? We and the garage use the header tank, bleed 3 valves, heater on full and hot, and the engine is running so the fan cut in at least 3 times. I am so annoyed and have hit a dead end with ideas. Any suggestions. I don't feel confident driving it anymore.
PS Thank you for your kind comments re myself being competent in knowledge-Louise

Hmm. This topic is interesting because I have been suffering from coolant loss on the ZX. I had it pressure tested last week and there was no pressure drop. The oil and coolant are clean and running with the coolant cap off (for a while) showed no obvious signs of pressure or bubbles in the coolant. There are no visible leaks around the engine head, in fact it's all pretty clean under the bonnet.
I am hoping that it's an air lock problem, I know that the AX was a b*tch to fill up properly, but I think I will have to go and have that test done on the composition of the coolant, to see if it could be the head gasket. Hey, it's a ZX, it's BOUND to be the head gasket.
My neighbour was merrily changing a Sierra head gasket in the street in the rain on Staurday morning, but I was too busy doing girlie things... ie. changing my flat's hot water cyclinder because the last one burst, oops, I mean 'filing my nails and applying lippy'!
