trailing arms - xantia

Post by shaunthesheep »

folks,
regarding my privious posting about rear trailing arm bearing replacment. is it advisable to remove the hydralic spiral located before the 24mm nut??, or using a 24mm deep socket to go throught the centre of the sprial??, if possiable.

i will be spraying the nut a couple of days before i start the work, so the wd40 can penetrate all the way throught.
cheers

Hi
When i did my rear trailing arms bearing on my Xantia 94 D i used a deep socket to go through the centre of the sprial, make sure that the sprial is lose and not fixed to the body. And when i did my trailing arms i left the brake pipe connected to the brake calipers.
Best of Luck

cheers aubrey,
thought that it would be a lot easier to do it that way. thax m8, did you happen to fit grease nipples to the arm as well?, as i might fit them at the same time but a little unsure about where to place them.
cheers again
