Hi everyone.
Recently I changed my transmission fluid on the gearbox and the oil i used was MOTUL Gear SAE 75W-80 Technosynthese. The reason for doing so was because it felt like the transmission wasnt changing gears in a smooth way. After the change it became night and day difference. Especially going from around Gear 2 to 6. Shifting from Gear 1 to 2 is still sometimes a little bit iffy. Could be because of me still not being used to how to properly accelerate, especially when braking suddenly and then accelerating. Triptronic cars usually dont like that i think.
Nonetheless I am specifically looking for oil to replace the actuator and obviously not the transmission itself. People get confused and they dont know what i mean by that. Most workshops too even Peugeot workshop here where i live in sweden. So im turning my head here, hoping for some answers on how to search and possibly find the right one for my car.
My car is a: Peugeot 508 SW 1.6 e-HDi EGS 9HD (DV6CTED) 115hp, 2013. TecDoc ID is: 12961. If also needed, the VIN is: VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Do you by any chance have the steps for it? Since its the Actuator I think it requires some steps with bleeding all that stuff. Maybe its not entirely recommended if im just aiming for the gears to maybe shift better since its not new oil in there obviously. Peugeot workshop here in Sweden only recommended to just flush the old, in with the new.GiveMeABreak wrote: 13 Mar 2025, 16:16 You'll need something like this:

I suggest you leave the actuator system well alone unless there's a need to do anything as these require specialist diagnostic tools for depressurising the system first before the oil level can be measured / topped up correctly, and repressurised afterwards, but there are procedures in diagbox for checking the oil level during the operation.

I assume you mean its fine to replace the oil with the new and just leave the diagnostic part alone. I certainly hope i can do that at least, hoping for a smoother ride. And thank you for the warning regardless.GiveMeABreak wrote: 16 Mar 2025, 13:00 I suggest you leave the actuator system well alone unless there's a need to do anything as these require specialist diagnostic tools for depressurising the system first before the oil level can be measured / topped up correctly, and repressurised afterwards, but there are procedures in diagbox for checking the oil level during the operation.
Also Are you by any chance able to get "factory reference values" for Peugeot's in general when it comes to data readings for sensors and what their values should look like? MAF, MAP etc. I am trying locate what is potentially making my car waste more fuel than it did before. The suspect more than anything is most definitely EGR Valve needing some cleaning. Ive already cleaned MAP, MAF sensor. Ive checked hoses, done a smoke test, no leakage no nothing.

No, that's not what I meant. You cannot change the piloting actuator oil without first depressurising the system and using the automatic oil draining procedure in Diagbox. Then the actuator needs removing to remove the oil from the reservoir, it is then reattached filled to Max and then the diagnostic tool is used to run the oil level procedure and later repressurise the system.
Change the actual gearbox oil by all means (the piloted gearbox itself is just a normal manual gearbox), but not the piloting actuator oil!
