Hello,
This is something that started 15-20 days ago approx. Initially I have noticed that side mirrors are not tilting /dipping once car is put into reverse, even though settings is ON in infotainment car/parking settings. Tried switching it off/on no improvement.
I can move mirrors using adjusting stick (motors work), but mirrors are not moving all the way, they move like for 1 sec then stop, if you reapply command they move again a bit etc.
After few days reverse tilting of mirrors worked back on on their own. At that moment, readjusting mirrors work all the way (to any side) until you release joystick, as it should be.
Now the catch, already memorized 1 and 2 seat position work like a charm, clicking one then the other, I can hear bong sound and adjusting everything (seat + side mirrors).
As soon as I click M button for memorization, everything goes to hell… pressing 1 and 2 buttons do not do anything anymore, no bong sound, and putting in reverse not tilting mirrors anymore… like it is stucked, in some kind of a glitch bug…
So as soon as memory function is engaged (M button), meaning to set new memory, already existing presets 1 and 2 stop working, for some period.
When it comes back (randomly, it can be even few days) using just 1 and 2 works like a charm - calling already saved (who knows when) presets.
Really dont know what could be causing this, 100% something with memory function (writing over existing 1/2 button settings).
Hopefully someone can shed some light.
It is DS7 2018 Opera 2.0 BlueHDi 180 eat8
Edit: Could this glitch be because low battery (accumulator), last time in dec2024 it was around 69% health? Start/stop function usually works 90% of time.
This Wednesday I have scheduled visit to service to check on diag and perhaps reset/restart necessary modules + maybe I will buy new battery if needed.
Thank you

Re: DS7 2018 weird seat/side mirror memory issue
Hello. In my experience if battery is not charged well, or car has not been started for some period of time you could get plenty of gizmos and glitches. I would suggest to charge battery to full, and then to go for a scanning. If Start/Stop is working then health of the battery is ok, so there is no need to replace it (but some testing under load would be good to check as well). Let us know about the outcome

Re: DS7 2018 weird seat/side mirror memory issue
Hi Gidra
A friend of mine had similar problems regarding seat position memorisation with a BMW. The fault was found to be in the multi-plug connector under the seat, apparently a high resistance caused the memory function to be unreliable. It did show up as a fault on his diagnostic scanner but only in "Live Data" when the seat was moved electrically I seem to remember. It was an easy fix in this case, just some careful contact cleaning. I know it's not a DS but possibly the same principles apply?
Regards
Andy

Re: DS7 2018 weird seat/side mirror memory issue
Update,
Now, after battery change (Varta AGM), I got wrench icon on dash, and saying “check side lamps”.
Especially it is triggered when I switch right indicator.
Everything works, every single led lamp/indicator.
The only thing that actually looks like not working are two orange indicators on bumper, that should be lighting up (hazard lights) when fifth door (boot) is opened UP, to take from main side indicator swiping (floating) led lights.
We tried opening boot and using hazard lights but they are not lighting. Service guy managed to pull one module from the bumper and all lights are ok.
It is really indicative that both orange lights in the bumper stopped working (not signaling) after battery change…
Really strange for me.. they told me to drive a few days to see if it will settle it self on its own…
Currently start/stop is just blinking 3-4 times green and nothing, guess that one also needs settling to communicate back/forth.
Any ideas would be really appreciated… I am desperate, as now apart from side mirrors not tilting in reverse, after battery change new issues introduced… crazy…
Thank you

Re: DS7 2018 weird seat/side mirror memory issue
Right. Did you or the garage recharge or check the battery before swap? (Some batteries are on the shelf for long period of time and need recharging before swap - this might cause your Start/Stop green indicator to pop out on the dashboard - try to drive or recharge your battery)
Did garage know about proper disconnecting procedure? Please look at the attached file
Did garage scanned your car for a fault codes using Diagbox? Some portable scanners are not good enough to read all date from Ds
All lights are managed by bsi, in this case you might need to do a reset. Please look thru forum how to do that.
I would strongly recommend to buy a diagnostic tool and install Diagbox software (look thru my posts how to do that) You might need it

Re: DS7 2018 weird seat/side mirror memory issue
Thank you,
I will check attached files once I am on my laptop.
Regarding start/stop it is now working normally, I read in “Scan MyDS” app it is normal for it not working on first trip from service shop, as it was in my case.
I am still with this same side marker lights (front/back rear), nothing changed on that field, even with 3-4 car starts and driving a bit.
I havent still tried BSI reset procedure, preparing myself for that “surgical”
procedure.
Regarding their (service shop) diag tool, really dont know what are they using. I know it is offline version without token (they have also token/online version for some other procedures). And I think they could not see that error that DS7 was showing on dashboard.
I am just hoping that BSI didnt get damaged or something like that… in some way.
Currently this is what I see in MyDS app as an error:
Attached screen shot
Basically now I see that second error disappeared actually. There was second one as “rear right side indicator light”, now I just see this one, front right side marker light.
In reality, I know that on rear bumper these two orange lights are not getting lit up, and also I think break lights left and right. But rear fog lights are working (on bumper as well).
I am emphasizing rear bumper lights (all of them are classic bulbs), as these are “backup” lights when tailgate is raised/opened and thus main rear led lights are up in the air.

Re: DS7 2018 weird seat/side mirror memory issue
Ok. Seems like they have diagbox (token/offline version). Did they scan for a fault codes? Even if not showing on the dashboard, you will get some after scanning. Mostly saying no power, or insufficient power. Regarding indicators - front lamps, wing mirrors and rear lamps are Led. Bottom one should be normal light. All of term are managed by bsi. Did your all lights in trunk are working? Try to start the engine put a headlights on and try open the boot. Red positioning light should be on. U can lock and unlock your car using small button on the right side of the boot switch?

Re: DS7 2018 weird seat/side mirror memory issue
Dont know if they scanned for fault codes, wasnt near them, as customer was in lobby/waiting room.
Yeap, all the LEDs are normally working, all around the car.
The “only” issue is with normal bulbs in rear bumper. And not all of them, orange one are not lighting up and I think far left/right ones, that should be break lights - according to Scan MyDS app.
I think that only 2 rear fog lights (red) are working. The others that are depended on tailgate being opened are not. So that is the connection in someway, these bulbs that should take over when tailgate is opened.
I was thinking to check fuses below steering wheel and secondly to perform BSI reset procedure (hopefully right), as I dont know if I did it correctly or not…
Anyway I will try all your suggestions/checks and will reply back. Most likely later or even tomorrow.
Edit: I know, for example, that kicking motion/handsfree tailgate opening (below rear bumper) and tailgate open/close with auto lock is working well. I think, I have 2 lights inside the trunk that are indeed working.

Re: DS7 2018 weird seat/side mirror memory issue
Ok
Put your all headlights on, incl. indicators, fog lamps front and rear, and see what's happened. Open the boot using kick/ switch mode and then see what's what. Try to replace both indicator lights bulb. Sometimes the resistance is dodgy and bsi showing as a broken hence no power going in. Sometimes might be a problem with the earth in the lamp. Please check all lower lamp connectors and a plug for a sign of rust or oxidation
Please ask the garage if there was any fault codes if not go and scan it. It will help to narrow down the problem

Re: DS7 2018 weird seat/side mirror memory issue
Ok thanks, will do.
Just as a reminder, all this started yesterday when they replaced battery for a new one. Noone ever even came close to these lower bumper light bulbs either side, up until this moment (yesterday, after battery swap for the new one).
Could it be a blown fuse with new battery?
Service guy already removed left bulb module from the rear bumper and checked externally all bulbs were working, then he returned it back.
They also mentioned they have had identical issue with other ds7 customer and this issue went out on its own after few days/number of trips… so far I had like 3-4 trips (startups).

Re: DS7 2018 weird seat/side mirror memory issue
Opening/closing the tailgate works both with button or kicking under rear bumper. Lights inside are active.
Regarding bulbs on rear bumper, only fog ones are lighting up… I even clicked hazard lights and raised tailgate, but sweeping ones (led) are still working up there, but none on the bumper, neither position ones, just 2 fog ones.
Also, now when I used lock button on the tailgate it did lock (needed to hold a bit longer), but now car is looking it self every 30sec to 1 min or so, dont know what is going on, like deadlocking it self, even I think I hear windows trying to shut even more (like holding lock on key fob).
Definitely I will need to perform BSI reset.
One last thing, curtesy lights do not light up under each of side mirrors, the ones with DS logo projecting on the ground… must be connected to this issue.
Attaching few screen shots

Re: DS7 2018 weird seat/side mirror memory issue
Well. By the look of it bsi reset should help. There is a couple options in diagbox to set differently those bumper lights. There is also couple options from touch panel menu regarding courtesy lights/follow me home lights as well. Car is locking itself after alarm or switch been activated but not door been opened. It is kind of security measure by accidently pressing key fob in your pocket. No door been opened so alarm locking up door and arming itself again

Re: DS7 2018 weird seat/side mirror memory issue
Thanks.
Regarding courtesy lights (ds logo projectors below side mirrors), I will also check in car on the central ceiling position, currently I have orange “off” message, meaning inside white lights will not trigger with door opening etc, maybe because of that these outside projectors (ds logo) are not lighting up as well.

Re: DS7 2018 weird seat/side mirror memory issue
Yeap it was due to central off function for courtesy lights.
Anyway, by reseting BSI everything cleared up, all the lights are working now - no service wrench nor any other alerts/errors. Great news!
But the main/initial (previous) issue remained (without any actual error) and that is side mirrors not dipping/tilting when in reverse. Sometimes it works but mainly not - intermittent…
It has something to do with M - memory seat function, as it usally breaks once M is clicked and then it wont accept any preset to save 1 or 2 - no audible bong sound.
Because of that, is there any specific process/procedure to reset memory seat function, some sequence to reset seats and potentially side mirrors?
