Assuming you have replaced it with the exact same engine then it will be fine.

Item (9) is unfortunately no longer available :( - which is probably why it has been badly bodged. If they have connected the pipes together then of course it is going to leak with pressure build up.

You may need to try and get some pipe made up or modify a similar pipe.

The original part was: 1180K9.

As the part is no longer available it could be worth calling into Pirtek with (if it can be safely removed) that item 9 pipe, to see if they could make up a replacement. You don't have much to loose, and a safely working engine to gain.

Officially no - they have stopped making that part now as the car is over 16 years old. It really depends on what the part is and the demand.

I forgot to mention the dimensions for you:

I know it's a stupid question, but I'm a diamond/core driller. The amount of times I'm told internal dimensions rather than the external dimensions...

One of my (myriad of) sayings is "There is no such thing as a stupid question". If you don't have the information you require you have to enquire.

I have an addendum to that saying; "...but stupid, avoidable mistakes do exist".

Can I have the part number, please, and is it still available to buy from Citroen? If not I’ll get a second hand one.
James, if this is for your VIN ending 665, then there were 2 options - a locking cap and a non-locking cap:

Image

(6) Locking
Combination specified on order, part: 1508J4, £72.88
Random Combination, part: 1508J3, £101.77

(10) Non-locking was part: 1508F7, £19.09, but no longer available.
Thanks very much. Got a second hand on the way now. Cheers.

Hi all
I have a D9 406 SV, VIN VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff], which is currently refusing to start. The starter no longer spins - best I was able to get was a very weak part-turn. This has been brewing for a while, but at first it was just occasionally, and after a few retries it would suddenly just work.

It is definitely not the battery - it's showing 12.7 volts. Just to be sure I connected jumper leads from a running vehicle - measured voltage at 13.8v - no difference.

Now I realise that there are other possibilities, but is 438087 the right starter motor? Looks like Spareto could fly one out to me for about $100 less than I could buy one in Australia.

Cheers
Alec
