There are many fascinating, informative and entertaining contributions to the Blogs and Galleries section of the forum, but primus inter pares has to be this one. A read from the begining job would take years. So here is the lastest installment. Judge for youself, top quality in my opinion.

Plenty of "pictures of the day" lying within :-D

The farmer opposite my business had a barn with a stone tiled roof like that but about twice the size both in height and width,
He wanted to turn the barn into accommodation for holiday lets but the council scheduled it as grade two listed building and refused permission.

A few years later there was announced that grants were available for maintenance of such buildings so he applied for the grant, the council immediately withdrew the buildings grade two listing and refused the grant.

A new owner got permission to turn it into holiday lets and took the roof down to about a third of its height.
Man is, by nature, a lazy beast, he does not need twice encouraging to do nothing.

Flicking though the pages of Electrek this image and headline loomed large.

https://electrek.co/2021/09/18/cadillac-lyriq-sells-out-in-19-minutes-automakers-still-underestimating-ev-demand/
My immediate thought's were;
Are people mad?
That's one of the ugliest most irrelevant vehicles on 4 wheels.
That car and its like are the opposite of what's needed for wider adoption of electric vehicles
But people are queuing up to buy them.
Whats the motivation?
Do the Joneses still need to be kept up with?
Probably...

So what happened to Sepember 21st and 22nd :?:

If there's no content on POTD the public will switch off :-D

September the 23rd needs taking care of pronto, and with a couple of catch up pics to make up for the blank days.

One of them was the Autumn Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere, and the Spring Equinox down under...no one in touch with the seasons in 2021 AD. :?:

I have a picture of a conker should responses to the challenge be lacking, and I have spilt blood getting it.

Testimony to the old adage "Own a Stanley knife and you will cut yourself" , and "Whosoever shall try to open an unripe conker with a Stanley Knife is a foolish person and deserveth whatsoever consequences which ensueth."

There are a family (Mr. Mrs. & Junior) of crows here, showed up in spring.
I was baffled at first, never having seen a crow, it was all rooks and jackdaws where I lived, crows being very rare.
Finding it hard to get a photo despite feeding them. They are very skittish and are usually chased away by the magpies and herring gulls that abound here.

Trees in the way as always. May need to invest in an axe.

In the meantime, the best show of morning glory this year, and the last as I have just deaded them pulling weeds from around them.

No excuses for missing the 21st but stayed in all day looking after SWMBO and didn't have anything to post!!
However yesterday was a different matter with the visit to the hospital to have her clips removed and begin her physio proper. The appointment was 10.30 so by the time we arrived all the limited parking spaces had been taken, so I dropped her at the main door, COVID rules mean I'm not allowed to go in anyway, and drove round the grounds looking for somewhere to park. Cars and vans were everywhere on double yellows, something I won't do because they are there for a reason, all across access points etc until on my last avenue of searching I spotted a vacant space next to the storage garages. Ideal for an Ami or maybe a Smart car but I have a Subaru!! However I was only parking to sit and read my book while SWMBO had her clips removed and then her first physio session so I decided that the Subaru would fit in the space as long as I didn't want to open the doors. So a minute later:
Own work
Own work
I settled down to read and then I realised that I did just have room to squeeze out to stretch my legs and took two pictures. The second one showed how tight it was and on viewing it back in the car I saw the notice on the wall which I couldn't read:
Own work
Own work
So I popped open the sunroof and took a closer shot of the unreadable notice and then realised why I had found the space!!
Spoiler: show
Own work
Own work
It was still standing when I was summoned to collect her a few minutes later :-D

Well done Steve and Mick I'll keep my conker pic in reserve. :-D

Tremendous light for photography this afternoon down Craster way. Changing over the course of a half hour stroll along the coastal path.
Just a hint of a brighter patch of light on its way against a dark sky

Not quite there, dark sky dominates
