I've called them again this morning and the guy on service reception said he doesn't have the facility to look up Registration numbers (I'd already given him the VIN No ) he said the garage supervisor has the facility to check and he'll do it later .it doesn't instill too much confidence in them . But there's a couple of other dealers , so if he's not forthcoming I'll chase up one of the others . I think the issue is that they have shared franchises now, so previously they would have been exclusively Citroen but this garage are Opel Citroen and Kia I think

I tried to accelerate to overtake a car and it seems to be limiting the revs to 3k max , I'm presuming this is to do with the eolys pump fault along with not changing up gears automatically . Do you have the part number for my Eolys tank unit as going by the service I'm getting so far from my local Citroen dealer I reckon I'd be better ordering on the unit myself

Thanks Marc , happy to contribute , the main dealer just got back on to me, they've said that the recall for for an issue with a belt tensioner , which they've ordered and will be in stock next week , while they were on I ordered the tank and pump €150 something plus vat worked out at €185 or so all in , so I've ordered that as well , it should be in within three working days , so fingers crossed that'll resolve the issue

Ah, OK, no worries and thanks for the Forum donation - your member status has been upgraded. I take it you don't need the part number now, but if you do need any other part numbers in future, please do ask.

The mechanic replaced the eolys tank and pump and refilled it , however afterwards he says his diagnostic tool won't connect to the EOLYs ECU as it had done before , so he can't reprogramme the level in the tank . It's coming up as a Comms error . I browsed the internet over the weekend and it seems some have had to disconnect the ECU afterwards to kick-start it again . I can't seem to find where the ECU for my vehicle is and I'm not sure if it's to be disconnected and reconnected hot as the Americans would say ?

Have you booked the vehicle in with the dealer yet? It's still showing as needing a after sales campaign recall.....

Your VIN suggests that this function is controlled by the engine ECU - there is no separate additive ECU shown. I would suggest you get the dealer to reset the counter to zero whilst you are having the recall work done.

On your recommendation Marc I bought a diagbox from Easydiagnostics, and I must say they provided a fantastic service , having loaded the software the laptop wouldn't connect to the car , an issue on my end with firewall , but the lads sorted it remotely via teamviewer .
Having run a global test it found 8 errors
U1F00 present
B162C temporary
B1713 temporary
B1714 temporary
B1715 temporary
B1716 temporary
B1811 present
B1209 temporary
I then opened Repair and Replacement of the additive reservoir, of the pump or of the lines , but it opens with a Communications Error
I've also tried Filling of the additive Reservoir and it has the same communications error . I suspect a faulty connection since the reservoir was replaced by the mechanic , as he had been able to access the reservoir beforehand as he had updated the levels having filled the Eolys reservoir as part of the initial service .

This is not something I'm going to be able to help you with at this end, as I don't have a lot of detail on this engine ECU unfortunately and these are also temporary faults. All the 'B' faults tend to be related to the inside of the vehicle - as in comfort, driving assistance aids and cabin equipment - so you may have something going on with the BSI or power to the BSI from the engine supplies management that may be causing problems - and I can't therefore be sure that any of those faults are related to the additive system.

It may be worth holding on until you get it booked in for the after sales campaign and mention that you have all these above faults. I wouldn't mention you have connected your own Diagbox to the vehicle, or mention you have it - as they may do a cop out. Hopefully they will see these faults when they come to do whatever the work needed is.

Wiring diagrams are very system-specific, as in Injection, ABS / ECU, Headlamp, Parking Assistance etc., so here is what I think you want - the particle filter system:

As usual, most of the codes are on the wiki in number hierarchical sections:

Thanks Marc I'll do a bit of rooting around . When I bought the car it was running fine in automatic . After I got it home an injector went (no2) unfortunately my mechanic changed no 3 by mistake I'd asked him to do s full service while he was at it . He replaced the oil, oil filter , fuel filter , brake pads and topped up the eolys reservoir. When I received the car back it was only running in manual and will only rev to 3000rpm . He'd said there was a pump error in the eolys reservoir , and having checked with another mechanic, he reckoned that the pump was the issue as it's a common fault . My feeling is that he has disturbed a loom during the service , as I've read that some of the cables can be quite brittle within the looms . I'm anxious about giving my nearest main dealer an open docket , as they are also originally an Opel dealership and I feel that Opel is where their expertise lies rather than Citroen and their learning experience can be quite expensive for the punter, as they start replacing parts in the dark .

Latest update is that the car is booked in this morning for the recall and they'll connect it up to their diagnostics unit (€115) . However the service manager reckoned that as it's a UK import there's a good chance that it's related to salt corrosion of the cables underneath the car , as they've had lots in with this issue . Apparently you guys need more road salt in the winter than us in the emerald Isle :)
