Re: Hard to start
You can check for air in the clear intake pipe to the filter. I could sometimes see a bubble in there before I started which dissapeared, but when I shone a bright light through the pipe from underneath I could see a stream of tiny bubbles against to top edge of the pipe. After I had removed and refitted the pipe the bubbles had gone, after about 100 miles they were back and the fault returned.

Re: Hard to start
there is a pump in my tank i have taken it out to check that the filter is not block unless it is a dummy one to hold the tank sender
any way this morning i started pumping the manual bulb pump ,after i loosed the bulb i waited a moment and could here the fuel draining back so i think the none return valve must not be working i have ordered a new one

Re: Hard to start
Strange, I don't have one in mine, I took it all out to check the filter - no pump. Mine is a 2008 140 bhp though perhaps that's the difference?

Re: Hard to start
AFAIK if you have a primer bulb there is no in tank pump, the casing for the sender unit is part of the design, can also house the pump if fitted ?

Re: Hard to start
That's basically correct, The framework has enough space for a pump as well as the fuel level sender unit.
Is it possible that the sender unit is being mistaken for a pump?
